I ordered a wrought iron metal door for the garden of my house. Excellent quality and the mechanism works great. They delivered with excellent workmanship and production. Professionals for the installation. And really well worth the money. I would gladly recommend it to everyone. With love.

"DO NOT USE - INCOMPETENT & UNPROFESSIONAL"
Agreed a new electric gate with intercom. The Managing Director took the measurements and designed the gates. Paid deposit at beginning of May 2021 and was advised that it should be fitted in about 8 weeks. For months we heard nothing from Westcountry. Every time I called there were excuses about staff changes, blaming other colleagues for not ordering things etc. It took over 6 months for them to arrive to fit the gates. Very quickly it became clear the gates weren't going to work. The gates were large heavy steel frame with wood cladding (they also supplied the wrong wood) which they tried to hang on soft aluminium posts. Unsurprisingly the gates dragged on the ground and the bolts pulled out of the posts. After a week of failed attempts and with no warning Westcountry removed the gates. They offered to complete redesign the gate at no extra cost to us. Another few months of phone calls and inactivity. Eventually they said they had changed the plan and would come out to start if I paid an EXTRA £5000. When I refused to pay and asked to see / discuss what their new plan was, Westcountry said they no longer wanted to do the job. It took several emails and the threat of court action for them to refund my deposit. I am now left with NO GATES (they removed my old ones and would not return to re-install them despite being asked to) and a DAMAGED DRIVEWAY (where they dug it up and would not come back to make good). After almost a year of hassle from Westcountry, we are worse off than before we started and wish we had never dealt with Westcountry Gates. Incompetent and unprofessional.

"Enjoying our lovely old wooden gates…"
Enjoying our lovely old wooden gates now that they are automated. Paul and the team got to us very quickly and worked hard to install the motors and join up to our old gates, all in a day. The gates look beautiful and everyone is enjoying using them. Big thx to Paul, Suzanne and the fitting team

"Great team"
I have just had Iroko hardwood electric gates and pedestrian gate fitted by Westcountry Group and I couldn't ask for better service - the team went above and beyond to make sure the installation went well and then followed up afterwards to make sure I was happy.

"Brilliant workmanship and product!"
I recently had a set of iroko hardwood gates installed. The fitters that came were brilliant, punctual, hard working and they worked to a very high standard, I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.
From start to finish Westcountry couldn’t do more for me and I would definitely recommend them again! Even thinking about getting my second entrance done

"Terrible company"
Terrible company, customer service is non existent.
They have no idea what they are doing. They do not care about the safety or security of their clients. They only care about rinsing people for as much money as possible with zero service provision.
Avoid at all costs.

"Avoid this company - TERRIBLE customer service!!"
Westcountry Gates & Barriers seem to be fast gaining a reputation for EXTREMELY POOR customer service! I spent a significant amount of money with them for an automated gate and 4 x automated garage doors. The gate has had a number of issues since installation. Initially, though response times were slow, they would at least eventually deal with the early problems we had. More recently, we had a service visit from Westcountry that we requested, that came at a (payable in advance) cost of £120. That service was carried out by a departing (and clearly disillusioned & disgruntled) engineer. Just a couple of weeks after that service visit, the gate failed. Despite me requesting that urgent action be taken by Westcountry to attend to the fault ASAP due to the fact we have a disabled & vulnerable family member living at the address, it took over 5 weeks of constant chasing before an engineer attended. This unreasonable delay was in spite of them assuring me we were on a 'priority list'! During that time, NOT ONE call or email was received from them by way of an update. When they finally showed up, the attending engineer asked when we had last had the gates serviced. When I told him it was only a couple of the weeks prior to the failure, he stated that the service hadn't been undertaken properly as the cause of the fault was a blown control board caused by insect infestation in the control box which he said would have been checked & cleared out during a standard service! In the engineers view, the control box hadn't been opened up for "some considerable time". Therefore, in my opinion, if that service had been carried out properly, then this current failure of the gate would likely have been avoided. I then spent another couple of weeks chasing Westcountry for a resolution to the problem. They eventually sent me a very curt email saying that if I paid them £595 in advance, they would come out and fit a new control panel! Very unhappy with this, and their general unprofessional approach and delays, I asked to speak with the MD (Paul Luke) to discuss the matter further, but was told he wouldn't take my call. As well as not taking my calls (numerous attempts), he hasn't given me the courtesy of a response to a detailed email I sent him. Seems like a spineless & unprofessional approach to customer service!!! I have now found the part I need online at a cost of £200 (vs. the almost £600 they were trying to charge!!), and will fit this myself. In my experience, Westcountry Gates & Barriers are expensive, unreliable & VERY unprofessional and I would suggest that anyone in the market for gates, garage doors, barriers, automation, etc seek an alternative supplier!
