"Rip-off merchants - £700+ for half-hour diagnosis"
Completely ripped-off my landlord to the tune of £700. Firstly did not come the day booked. Also arrived late the next day. Used endoscope to diagnose broken underground pipe with vermin nesting nearby. Forced off inspection cover and left it with a crudely improvised bit of pipe offcut over it (that leaked) and (apparently) some bait stuck inside (which nothing touched). They were here LESS THAN HALF AN HOUR and charged £700+!!!!!! For a quick diagnosis and no fix. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

"Never came and never even rang"
Never came and never even rang. I booked an emergency drain clearance and they said they were busy but would be there that evening. I never ever heard another word from them. Even the next day all I got was an answer machine. Completely useless firm, They are making so much money they simply have no concern at all for customer service. I was helped out in the end by a very concerned local plumber who cares about his customers, unlike BDS drainage.

"Huge bill with no detail"
Not responding to my multiple requests for photos they promised they were taking throughout for us to submit to the insurance company. Also ignoring my request for a detailed breakdown of the astronomical bill. Neither of these should be much to ask after forking out £11,400. I am strongly starting suspect they have totally ripped me off.

"Waste of time"
Waste of time. They advertise that they assist with garden drainage in the Essex area yet after contacting them by phone and email and sending photos of the issue, I heard absolutely nothing.
If you don't want to help people in Essex then don't advertise up here.

"Unreliable"
Booking was made and told the engineer will be between 6-8pm. Nothing came and chased it 4 time and receptionist said she will call back on a time. She never did. Eventually the engineer call at 10pm saying he doesn't know what time he will be able to come. So rebooked it for next morning from 10-12. Same again, no engineer or call by 12 and chase them. Same girl answered and said she will call back with an ETA. No call back so I cancelled and booked another company who came at the time they said.
If you can't fulfil a time slot, they should say so and not waste customer's time. Never call these guys if you have an emergency! Appalling customer severe and organisation.

"A recent experience just confirming BDS is a dishonest company to be avoided"
I have already written a review about this company when I used them back in 2020. The blockage issue came back few days ago so it was obvioulsy not properly solved by BDS 12 months ago and I called another company as I didn't want BDS staff to come anywhere near my property again. Well what a difference in service and in price (it was fixed price incl VAT all inclusive) to solve the kitchen/bathroom blocage. I can only re-iterate that BDS is a dishonest company in the way they apply the charges by the 1/2h, excl VAT and excl machinery (but they charge machinery even when not in use) and using dishonest staff lying about what time they started the job and using various time wasting tactics to make sure you go over the next 1/2h. Whilst BDS charged me £432 for the simple job over a year ago, today with this other company I paid about £145 for the exact same job, yes that is about only 1/3... Avoid this company if you can unless of course they have changed their behaviour. When I complained last year they obviously told me to contact them to solve the issue but they never returned my calls nor replied to my emails.

It's been 2 weeks since the work was done. BDS (Brian and Stuart) did a great job, and fixed all the issues. Very happy with the service!
