"As a new customer to Smarter Business"

As a new customer to Smarter Business, My client bought an empty unit, and after 6 weeks of the investigation, we found out that the MPAN number was registered incorrectly under the plot 290A as a residential unit and trying get a metre fitted . I was thrown from post to pillar between Scottish Power and UK Power, one blaming the other, whilst the client was screaming on the other end. Eventually, Smarter Business was recommended to me, and I made contact with Justin Breetzke and within 10 days, everything was sorted. The metre installed is booked and the contract is signed. I am very impressed by the service level I have received and the knowledge and advice that Justin Breetzke offered, and made it very simple for me to deal with them.

It’s a mine field out there with energy providers. I’m pleased with the help I’ve received from Candice who manages to sort any issues. Candice has been very supportive to date and I hope going forward the process of changing energy provider will continue to be a smooth process.

"I'm so happy to end the contract"

AVOID!!!
My experience is depressingly consistent with Fiona, Oliver and Claire review.
We paid for lifts that were never collected. Like Oliver, I was accused of lieing and like Fiona they constantly argued inconsistent points

Smarter Business didn't even have the decency to address Claire's concerns.
During the year long contract I was regularly treated dishonestly and disrespectfully by call handlers.

Buried deep in the terms and conditions Smarter Businesses hide a clause that customers has to request and pay for their new bins keys.
Now have a reputedly waste management contractor. They were amazed by this weasel clause because they supplied keys as standard with the bins.

Like Nigel, things became unpleasant when we gave notice to end our contract.
Erroneous charges appeared on the final invoice. Again the obscure terms and conditions were trotted out.

And like Sam, my business was effected by having to consultly deal with people who's only motivation was to grind down the complainant.

"Worst Customer Service EVER"

I used "Smarter Business" for my waste solutions. The waste collection I pay for is only sometimes collected. The worst is their customer service. They will try to contact you via telephone as they never do as promised and are reluctant to answer emails, but when the do it can take 2-3 months to get a response.

I'd never use this company again even if it were free!

"As a new customer to Smarter Business I…"

As a new customer to Smarter Business I was unsure what service I would actually receive.
I received my energy bill from my supplier and thought instantly it was way too high for 6 weeks, so took a meter reading and emailed it to Smarter Business, they said they would look into it, within a couple of days I got a new revised bill for about half of original.
Just wish I had been with them when I was with Scottish power as I think they have ripped me off over a number of years.

I could not be happier with the service I have received from this company. I was sceptical at first, as everyone is who runs a business, but my goodness are these guys the exception to the rule. "Very helpful over an ongoing issue with…"

Very helpful over an ongoing issue with npower. I tried for months to sort this out myself- their new billing system is incapable of recognising that engineering type businesses have more that one meter, so I cannot send my meter readings via my online account. A complaint then led to my bills being put on hold even though I wanted to pay them!
My contact was very helpful and took over dealing with npower and hopefully I will finally get an up to date bill in the next 7 days.

"Outrageous pricing and service!"

Smarter Business has been pressuring me for months about signing up for a renewal, with all quotes significantly higher than my existing tariffs. After 30 mins online found another quote 25% cheaper than their best quote! Weeks ago, I informed my SB account manager I was not going to renew contract at the end of period and found out today they have not informed the current supplier. Therefore, the switch away cannot go ahead on the date originally planned. I have now had to serve notice on the supplier personally and am now liable for out of contract charges during the notice period whereby the standing charge is approx 400% more and unit costs will be approx 200% more than normal. Just what a small business needs in the COVID-19 business environment!. In my signed Letters of Authority it explicitly states that: "this authority also gives permission .... to serve notice on our behalf to existing contracts" and "Issue termination notice with regard to existing/new contracts on my behalf". Response from the account manager today seems to indicate that once they realise there's not going to be ongoing revenue, their service stops, so cancel any contracts yourself!. So much for Smarter Business managing my account - nothing smart about this. Can't wait to get away! Lesson: Check EVERYTHING yourself!

"Never used this kind of thing before…"

Never used this kind of thing before and to be honest I was quite sceptical and a little nervous. Anyway Lee-Anne was lovely, she wasa pleasure to talk to and there was no pressure what so ever to do something that wasn’t suitable. Lee listened to our needs as a charity and pushed on when suppliers said no. Lee made things a lot easier and took away a lot of stress for myself and brought a smile when we chatted during a hard period for everyone whilst dealing with COVID19. Great job Lee and thank you again from me 5 Stars plus!
