The team was excellent! They accepted our move at the last minute, worked quickly, and completed the task. I noticed they were tired, but they were really kind and certainly deserve a raise!

"If I could give negative stars I would"

If I could give negative stars I would. This has been an absolute nightmare experience. Lies from the very beginning. You think you are working with Starline, but they bid it out to another company who won't guarantee when your stuff will arrive. In addition, they underbid the job and the actual mover wanted 50% more to take stuff. They wouldn't even take all the stuff. Still waiting for stuff to arrive after 4 days and they are saying at least another 8 days. I have called and texted Starline to discuss this matter many times to no avail. Update: The delivery truck finally arrived. The company they bid the job out to worked hard to get my belongings delivered 3 days after Starline had promised. Another huge issue we had was that this was a company paid move. Starline assured us they would keep the company payment on file so the remaining payments could be paid the same way, but neither the pickup company nor the delivery company knew anything about that. In fact, they said that is impossible to do. I had to provide CASH upon delivery which was supposed to be Monday morning at 7 am (no way to get that much cash between Sunday afternoon and monday morning). They were very late so the company was able to get the cash but it is ridiculous that in this day in today's electronic environment the company refused to take any electronic payment even Zelle. When the truck did arrive they yet again charged us extra because there were more that 7 stairs to the second floor which they knew about. I am not sure how many steps they thought a second floor would be but I have never seen a second floor with less that 7 steps. Finally, I watched my wood desk come off the truck destroyed. The packers ripped off the legs and just taped to the body so it could be set on its side easily. Even the unloaders were appalled by the state of the desk. Again, DO NOT use this company. I know they said I in their response that there was more stuff that I told them but that is just not true. I told them exactly what I had. I even called back to tell them there was a bike that was forgotten on the list so they could adjust for that which they never did. I repeated over and over again that I didn't want surprises so they should bid high. In the end we paid over 50% more than was bid.

"SCAMMERS!"

I'm 60 years old and this has been the move from hell. Company Drama. I can't give any details but we're taking Starline and United Way Movers base out of Missouri, to court. SCAMMERS!! Estimate and actual moving total was double the amount $26,000.
Pamela and Tom Wehmeier
Date of move is in comment.
United Way Movers were rude, left garbage on my patio and threatened to leave all my furniture if i keep complaining! Tom & I were scared of the employees.
So many damages to furniture & glassware.
Talk to Kevin Scott in your company. He never answered calls, email or texts!!!

Account was paid in full before the truck was unloaded on June 3rd, 2024.

This company is the worst!!

"If I could give this company zero…"

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. This organization is exceedingly unprofessional and disrespectful, especially considering I spent over $2000 on their services. Initially, they persuaded me to switch from my original moving company by disparaging their competition, which was a mistake.

Furthermore, communication was severely lacking. Despite multiple calls to confirm the movers' arrival, I was repeatedly told they would contact me, which never happened. On May 30th, I spoke with Mandy, Berto, Michael, and Leanne, who were all exceptionally rude. The company's internal communication is clearly deficient. They pressured me into having my belongings moved today and then threatened to void my contract if the movers couldn't take my items.

I am relocating to another state, and this company has only added to my stress. Their four-star rating is misleading; the company is disorganized, fails to communicate effectively, and is highly unprofessional. Additionally, they attempted to impose additional fees before the move. Although I was initially told by Michael that the movers would handle packing and wrapping, I was later informed there would be an extra charge for boxes for my TV. This inconsistency left me in the dark about numerous details.

I strongly advise conducting thorough research before selecting a moving company and not being deceived by inflated ratings. This company is not worth the expense; they lack professionalism and transparency. Leanne claimed I had agreed to certain terms based on a phone call, but I was misled throughout the entire process. When I called customer service for assistance, the mover arrived an hour later and gave me an ultimatum: move my belongings today or not at all.

I am moving from Georgia to Tennessee and had everything planned accordingly. However, the company refused to communicate with me after I expressed my frustration, which was justified given their mishandling of my time and money. To add to my previous experience, the company ultimately did not move my belongings. Jennifer has since become involved, and I recorded her making derogatory comments about a client in Spanish while the driver laughed, which I found highly unprofessional.

Communication issues continued as I had to approach the driver directly to inquire about additional charges, but he did not speak English, making it difficult to understand the situation. When I contacted Star Line customer service, they began imposing additional fees. Due to a lack of space in the truck, they attempted to charge me an extra $315 on top of the $2500 I had already paid.

Moreover, their recorded lines can confirm that Michael told me there would be no stair fee. However, Jennifer insisted that only the first seven stairs were free, contrary to the contract which states that the first flight of stairs is free at either the pickup or drop-off location. Jennifer pressured me to pay the $75 stair fee immediately, giving me the ultimatum to either move my belongings downstairs myself or pay the fee. When I asked if someone could assist me, she refused and threatened to cancel the contract, making further derogatory comments.

Despite my attempts to reach customer service, no one responded. The driver eventually left, leaving my belongings stranded in Georgia with no way to transport them to Tennessee. Prior to speaking with Jennifer, I had discussed the situation with dispatch, but they were uncooperative and argumentative, adding fees once they arrived, knowing clients are often desperate and more likely to pay. This behavior led to frustration and a heated exchange as they continually spoke over me, ignoring my valid concerns.

In summary, the company’s lack of professionalism, transparency, and poor communication resulted in a deeply unsatisfactory experience. They reassured me everything was fine until the deposit was paid, at which point the situation deteriorated significantly.

"Starline Vanlines SCAMMERS"

They gave us a quote and cut us a bunch of "deals" because my boyfriend is also a Veteran, they made us think the move would be right around 10,000 give or take, we forgot a few items so we called back and adjusted that and paid a little extra to compensate and the guy MIKE said "okay I'll also compensate for a few more things you may have missed and provide extra room just in case" okay cool, great, several days pass and we are trying to get a hold of Mike to let him know some updates about our move "he's out of office" my boyfriend said please write us so we can update this at your earliest convenience, it's now two days before the move, still no word from Mike, the next day we get an email from a woman named Mandy, her estimate is showing way way more than what mike had quoted us, we argue back anf forth for a while that we had told mike what we had and he quoted us lower than he should have i guess and that's a HIM problem not ours. After all day of this my boyfriend talked her down a bit so we decided to continue with it, but down another 3 thousand something for deposit (we already put 5 thousand something down to begin with) but at this point we felt we had to because they wouldn't let us cancel and get our deposit back since we read the contract as "you could cancel 72 hrs before the move, but it's actually 72 hours after signing the contract" so we felt at fault for the misread at first...now with the second deposit down we're feeling hopeful the rest of the move would go smoothly, they told us to pack as much stuff as we could into things like dresser drawers, entertainment centers and stuff like that to reduce the amount of boxes and utilize our space, we unpacked several boxes and did just that ....so now it's the day of the move, movers said they would be here at 1pm, at 9pm the day before they changed it to 12:30, whatever 30 mins no big deal, the day of the move they call at 7:30 and say theyll be here in 2 hours, we finish what we need to frantically to get all stuff finalized, movers arrive and walk through The house not saying much but taking pictures and talking to each other in Spanish. then they go outside and they're talking on the phone to someone. we assume it's a boss or something but they're not doing any work and the other one's just sitting on the curb. the ones on the phone for quite a while while the other one just sits on the curb. not doing anything finally we suspected something was up. the one gets off the phone and talks to my boyfriend and quotes him a new quote saying the end total of it all will be $23,000 total where as opposed to it was supposed to be about $14,000 total. that's a pretty huge difference. we also look in the truck and half of the truck space is taken up by someone else's stuff. this now means that we're not even getting a full amount of truck space so they misquoted us for the size too. so now we've been misquoted on price three times and misquoted on the size. we are pissed. we said we are not paying that much. that's absolutely ridiculous, especially when the total was supposed to be $14,000. we've already put our deposit down and they said that they wouldn't give us our deposit back. the movers sit around for a long time not doing anything and then when we tell them that they need to Go because we are not paying that much. they sit around in front of our house forever and then come back into our garage and start looking at stuff like they're going to start packing it up. my boyfriend's dad went out there and talked to them and said that they needed to leave. we were not going through with this move after they did leave. we got called by starline Vans and the company that was also the movers budget line Vans or something and they called us about seven times each. even though we were telling them that they were a shady company and we're not going through with either of them. they kept trying to quote" make it better but how can they make it better when everything has been horrible thus far? we will never go through another company like this. we decided we're just going to go through Penske and move the stuff ourselves. this is just a warning if you were thinking about going through this company. don't don't listen to that guy. Mike. don't listen to that woman. Mandy, they're out to scam your money. this whole company is a scam and will run your bank account dry making it harder to move. do yourself a favor and save yourself a bunch of stress. don't go through this company

"'RUN FOREST RUN""

If Starline Van Lines was the movie, Forest Gump, we'd find ourselves at the point where Jenny yelled, 'RUN FOREST RUN!"

Starline Van Lines is NOT a mover, they are a "Broker" who posts moving jobs to sub contractors - like the defunct cable TV show, "Shipping Wars".

Once booked, they devoid themselves of any culpability/responsibility for the person THEY chose. And, when things go wrong, like boxes missing, damaged personal property, etc, they point you to the person they chose and wash their hands of the entire process.

Starline takes their cut of the total cost of a move and then, such as our case in all of the above, addition fees for the personal property can and were added.

This company is a total sham and I encourage anyone reading this to find a moving company that takes responsibility from door to door. It will end up costing you the same as if you hired an actual mover, NOT a BROKER.

PER THEIR RESPONSE:

Your sales guy, Curtis Connelly, never once said Starlines was a broker - in fact, when I inquired, Curtis touted the length of time he's been in the moving business leading me to believe I was speaking with a company on par with an actual mover.

In any case, you offered no help in holding the mover you chose, D Logistics Movers, out of Tacoma Washington, accountable for their shoddy work. I sent your company a video and multiple pictures of both the damage D Logistics caused to my personal property. Additionally, it took over a week and multiple phone calls before I finally got the insurance company to file a claim against D Logistics - which now they tell me it will be up to 90 days before they contact me again.

Starline is a terrible company with no regard for the customer. I stand by my comments, EVERYONE READING THIS, RUN, RUN RUN....you will thank me later.

"If I could do zero stars that would be…"

If I could do zero stars that would be my pick. I guess it depends on who you work with to get top notch service. Company sucks ass. I'm glad other people had good service but I will not be recommending, NOT helpful and only want your money not your business. I will be contacting an attorney to file suit in small claims.

"All of our furniture was expertly..."

All of our furniture was expertly packed by Starline Vanlines, who also skillfully moved it all into the truck with our boxes. As promised, three days later, they moved all of my possessions from Maryland to Florida, and nothing was misplaced or damaged. Overall, excellent experience!
