Recently we used the services of Yampu tours for our trip to Bali. Karolina Guilcapi gave us plenty of options and worked with us for a wonderful vacation. With Corona virus making the headlines we had to make changes to our schedule and Karolina accommodated all those changes and came up with a revised itinerary two days before we started our vacation. In Bali the representatives contacted us daily. The guide, driver and the vehicle were excellent. Thank you Yampu particularly Karolina for a wonderful vacation.

Karolina G was efficient and available from start of planning till the end of trip. I came back to Yampu to work with Karolina, specifically, after we had planned a trip and then put it off for a few years. I remembered all the hard work she did and how easy it was to work with her.

This vacation was a challenge to plan as it included my senior parents and my teenage children. In the past we have done guided tours but we needed something more personal this time. The hotels were perfect. Assistance was available everywhere for my parents who have mobility issues. Locations were great! Every guide that Karolina and Yampu contracted with was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We loved them all!

This trip was the culmination of 40+ years of dreaming about going to Machu Picchu for my 83-year-old mother. The climb to the viewpoint for the site was quite a challenge for her but with the help of Marco, our guide, and my husband and lots of cheering tourists along the way, she made it! It was quite a moment.

We were truly pampered by Yampu and the arrangements they made. There were a few very small glitches, the kind that happen with every trip, but nothing that wasn’t put right immediately Yampu with their 24hour travel assistance availability.

One small thing that I noticed was that the hotels in Peru are a little bit lacking in amenities that are common in the US such as tissues in the room and bar soap.

I highly recommend planning your specialty trip, a bucket list vacation, or just a getaway with yampu, and especially Karolina if you are looking for a quality product and experience!

Our specialist Karolina worked very hard building the perfect trip for our travel group to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. We had our list of places and sights to see and she added her ideas and we had a great 31 day vacation. We had our own private driver's and guides throughout our trip. "Knowledgeable and Responsive"

Yampu was recommended to me by a friend a couple of years ago and I have been enormously satisfied with the two trips that they planned for me over the past two years. The first was a two week trip to Argentina and Chile, with the highlight being the four days we spent in Patagonia. All of our hotels were terrific and our guides excellent. This January, they planned an 8 day trip to both the wine country and the Atacama Desert for two of us . Again, everything worked beautifully, from our transfers, hotels, etc.

The trip was well one to be remembered for a life time. Stephanie organized the trip to South Africa and we will recommend her to others interested in a well organized and enjoyable adventure.

Yampu scores high on the level of care and accountability to customers. Everything from airport and point to point transfers, quality of hotels and guides to emergency access was done really well. Overall the service provided was reliable, assuring and value for money. I also appreciate Karolina for being so responsive as always be it a mail to help us streamline payment proceedings to matters involving lost and found queries mid-way during my trip!

However, there is some room for improvement. These include the following-

1. Some domestic flight sectors within Argentina did not have any kind of inflight service (meals and drinks) provided. Coming from Asia (where short sectors are given light refreshments), we were shocked by this and went hungry on the plane. This must be briefed to passengers. We could have bought some food on-board if we knew.

2. The hike to Fitz Roy require extensive preparation in terms of clothing and layering. We were inadequately prepared. While the guide was thoroughly professional and caring throughout the trip, she should be empowered to do a thorough check on travelers first and to please feel free to make immediate recommendations on site. There were many shops in El Chaltern which provide rental of hiking equipment and clothes and even shoes. We could have been given advice to gear up further on site. That would have made a huge difference to our hiking experience. This aspect (checks and provision of on-site advice and intervention for travelers in addition to type of hiking terrain and rapid changes to weather- 4 seasons in one day!) could be better addressed and explained in itinerary to better prepare travelers.

3. The coach transfer from El Calafate airport to El Chaltern and back was not consistent in terms of comfort and standards. We were squeezed into a small van with many travelers for the first (and the distance was really long) while the return trip to airport had a huge and luxurious bus that took us back to airport. We would appreciate some explanation on that.

Nonetheless, the above does not diminish the wonderful communication we had with the head office as well as other touring experiences provided by the company. I would still recommend Yampu to my friends and will not hesitate to engage their services again.
