"All good until end of trial"

We hired Add People for a 6 week trial to set up and manage our google ads search and shopping campaigns. We came to add people after we initially set up ads ourselves, these initially ran extremely well and were profitable for months, but unfortunately dropped off a cliff without any obvious reason (thanks Google). We were assigned staff to our account, to rebuild and improve our ads and properly set up conversion tracking. They both came across very professional and friendly.

The ads were set up with conversion tracking which was fine. There were a few small issues such as using our old domain for the cookie policy banner which wasn’t great but we cracked on.

The ads initially performed very well and were at break even and creeping into profit level and we were happy with this.

Their red flags quickly appeared however. In update meetings such things as comparing January to December in the sales report which is comparing one of our busiest months (January) and slowest months (December) which provides no worthwhile data at all and makes the ads look amazing.

Another interesting strategy was highlighting the total amount of abandoned carts and almost implying this was all recoverable. When i highlighted our conversion from cart to purchase was very good at about 30% and that no site converts 100% the tone softened, but the trust was wavering.

I’m sure they have targets to meet in terms of converting after the trial period but many instances of making the numbers look great to their advantage all came across as quite desperate and put cracks in our initial trust.

However the killer blow was that about a week before the end of our trial our ads fell off a cliff! They went from a break even/small profit situation to splurging money up the wall with no sales from google.

This was going on for a good week and when I highlighted this in emails out account owners their response was nothing short of shocking:

"I am sure you can appreciate and understand how consistent management and strategic optimisations can influence the volume of sales? The lack of sales in the last week is evidence of this."

"the ads are now back in your control and have been left as discussed, unless an agreement is confirmed"

Instead of trying to help us in anyway they used our failing ads as leverage for us to sign up to their minimum 6 month management plan.

While initially Add People were professional and courteous the tone quickly changed when we communicated we were not staying on after the trial and they became desperate sales people with no interest in helping. We have been left with ads we cannot use, and a very bitter taste. We can only give them and add people 1 star.

"Great results"

We have been working with Add People for about 18 months and we have consistently seen positive growth with our Google Ads campaigns. We went through an Account Manager change about 6 months ago and whilst this change was unexpected, I have to say that working with Charlotte Percival since has been a very positive experience. She is very proactive and we continue to see solid growth, long may it continue.

"Four months in and so far so good!"

I started working with Add People just before the holiday season. I was skeptical because my company is small and I wasn't sure that I could afford their services. I had some experience with Facebook ads, but hadn't really done much with Google. I did feel that I needed to diversify my efforts. My first call with Scott was very helpful. I was expecting "the big pitch" but that wasn't the case. He was very helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. After opting to proceed with a trial, Louisa was assigned to my account. I could not be more pleased with Louisa. She has taken the time to understand me, my business, my customers, my goals... to find out what's important... She takes time to explain reports and is always available if further explanation is needed. Everyone at Add People seems to genuinely care that what we are doing is working and that my money is being spent in the best and most efficient means possible. They are perfectly willing to keep the budget low until we gain traction and determine what works best. We have a ways to go, but so far, I'm very pleased with where we are heading.

Nicole has been great as my social manager. She joined the campaign when our company had seen a real decline in ROI. Since joining she has made the campaigns more efficient and the ROI has improved significantly. Really happy Nicole is looking after our Facebook ads.
