"DO NOT USE!!"

DO NOT USE!!
Seriously they sound good and yes I managed to get some good money but the following year my tax was ruined and ended paying back a lot more. They also left my account as a self assessment which I hadn’t realised, so when they bombarded me with more emails and messages telling me to use them again I thought why not as I can get my tax sorted, they found it was as such and couldn’t do anything for me and asked for £72 for the privilege. I asked for help and they were very rude.

"At the end of last year I advised swift…"

At the end of last year I advised swift that I was no longer a mobile worker and no longer required there services via the online portal. Swift were supposed to inform HMRC however I've subsequently now been sent a fine from HMRC for not completing a tax return on time.
Not sure what's going on but this should all have been dealt with. I paid swift each year to carry out my return annually up until last year where it was no longer required.
Absolutely shocking

"Minus 5 stars"

Minus 5 stars.
Please 🙏 AVOID THIS SCAM COMPANY. They don't delivery what they promise up to 8 weeks just on the paper.
Applied and submitted all require info at the beginning of October. And didn't hear from them so thought they forgot me or simply fall asleep... On very end of January/deadline is 31st/ feel self assessment myself and guess what swif refund woke up from they dreams. Told I done myself and don't need your service as missed your deadline. Then they come with idea of milking me £72 for cancelling contract. Shame Financial ombudsman don't deal with such scamers but it been brought to they attention.
So be careful guys don't get hooked on sweet promises and big lies.
Shame on you!

"It is hard to get away from them"

It is hard to get away from them. I used their services over a year ago and after the first time they sorted a refund out and as the first one can be backdated for 4 years it was worth it. The year after I got a letter from the HMRC saying i need to put in a tax return???? I contacted Swift who advised me that there was a charge to leave. I was furious as I was not informed of this when I specifically asked them about a get out charge at the start and was told there isnt one. (someone said to watch out for that). Turns out there is, so I contacted them again and it seemed that they had waived it as I got no more messages from them. Now I have a letter asking for a tax return AGAIN. I work for Openreach and have never had to fill any tax forms in all my life so now I am struggling with what to do. I was told that when I stopped using swift that things would just go back the way they were.....obviously not!

"Be warned…."

Be warned….. stay well clear of this company…..I started this process 7 months ago in September last year and returned all the documents they asked for. Only now swift have contracted me and said HMRC changed the requirements for the claim and swift have asked me to provide documentation for which I cannot provide. HMRC changed the requirements 8 months ago… why wasn’t I told this…. When I asked this they could not provide me with an answer… they said I could continue with the claim but if HMRC rejected it then I could be paying £500 pounds in fees…..After reading other reviews I’m not alone… I asked to cancel everything and was then threatened on the phone that if I didn’t pay cancellation fees then debt collectors would be called…
So swift have done nothing for me in 7 months, I have done 99% of it, and now they want to charge fees…
Stay well clear if you read this…. They just want your fees now because they can’t claim what they promise anymore!!!

"Absolutely awful"

Absolutely awful, Stay clear of this company.
I was recommended by a colleague to use this company which I used to claim a potentially due refund. HMRC sent me a letter stating they were investigating the claim and to call them. After speaking with them they informed me that I was not due any tax refund but was owed £60 per year for my uniform and not the £2500 that was being claimed. They also advised that if for some reason I were to be paid out I would simply have to pay this back through my tax code as it was a false claim. I cancelled my claim with the company as I would have been liable to pay their fee back also which i would not have got back from Swift and told them this in many emails. I have then been sent emails from their “bad debt department” stating I owe them £659! This is absolute daylight robbery how can a fee be charged when I was due nothing? 24% of zero is zero! Now they are sending me emails stating they will take me to a small claims court and will result in a CCJ against my name! This company is using strong arm tactics which I am not willing to comply with. I have offered the cost of the self assessment which is £65 plus vat but they are not acknowledging this just another threatening email. Just a bit of advice for people I have taken advice and have been told to ignore them as they cannot take me to court as nothing was due as the claim would have been made fraudulently. Avoid this company like the plague!

"Was told good things about this company…"

Was told good things about this company and was very hopeful. However turns out the rules of HMRC have now changed (which they failed to mention untill settlement fee was calculated)and you now need to provide highlighted bank statements along with numerous other paperwork to get money back. The amount of work I did compared to what they actually did was ridiculous. After hours of sorting through paperwork they finally closed my case with a tax rebate of £82. To and insult the fee they take is £72 resulting in my take home being £10. Do not waste your time with this company the money they say they can get is no longer achievable due to changes from HMRC which they don't disclose untill the end.

"I was planning to go with Swift…"

I was planning to go with Swift Refunds, however I soon realised I would not be eligible to claim, so I decided not to go ahead.

Swift Refunds required a authorisation code from HMRC, in order to act on my behalf, however I never provided a code as I did not go ahead with the claim.

Despite this, Swift are still chasing me for a £70 fee even though I never provided them with a code to act on my behalf. They should not have started working on my claim till they had this code.

I receive several emails from Jonathon Wharton, and I replied to them on 29/11/24, 06/12/2024 and 13/12/2024 asking why I was being invoiced despite never providing a code. I have never had a reply from Swift and now they are saying they will be registering a CCJ unless I pay. I will be filing this with the Financial Ombudsman unless Swift resolve this

"Would rate them 0 stars if possible"

Would rate them 0 stars if possible. It’s a horrendous mass marketing scam filled with hidden charges and harassment emails.

Don’t trust them. They will con you and disrupt your tax code for years to come.
