"Beware of ‘£40 policy fee’ included in premium."
Whilst the premium was v.competitive it wasn’t until I had paid that the documents stated that there was an ‘autonet policy fee of £40 (non refundable)’ included in the premium. I had checked the insurance details before purchase but this element had escaped my notice. I want to cancel because I feel this practice is underhand. The telephone operatives appear well versed in their defence of the fee although they are polite. Nevertheless I asked for a complaint to be raised. I cancelled the policy (which hadn’t even started) on principal even though this may cost me £40 but I feel I’ve been had and have no faith in the company should I need to make a claim. The fee should be stated much more clearly at the start of the online process.

Your telephone rerouting system was also far too lengthy and labourious. It needs simplified. I ended up speaking to your agent in South Africa, where, as a first time customer, I would have thought that a UK agent would initially deal with my payment query,
