I don't usually give reviews or comments to any type of services, whether it's good or bad. This will be my first because I think the service that me and my wife had from the Kitchen Designer at The Range, Portsmouth really deserves one.
Her name is Hannah...I got that right now because I really thought her name is Helen and even addressed her Helen once (I apologised).
She's very knowledgeable and accommodating... She listens then recommends...
She designed my wife's DREAM kitchen, it's now in the hand of her recommended installer to make it into REALITY.
I hope the delivery will go smooth on 12 April 2024...

"Great little company with a great designer"
I had never considered a kitchen from the Range before, but I can honestly say I was very pleased I found them. They have a good high quality range to choose from. We have renovated many houses and I would like to thank Hannah, their kitchen designer at the Portsmouth branch, for doing such a fantastic job with our plans. It really is amazing when you find such a dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable person to support you with your design. I had several ideas in my head and Hannah was extremely patient in planning each one to help me decide. With my last plan she added an idea she thought I might also like and she smashed it! Great work Hannah, thank you. You made me feel so comfortable with no pressure. You really are a credit to the company. I would highly recommend the Jonas & James kitchens at The Range.

Amazing designer. Hannah from the Portsmouth Branch went above and beyond and provided a first class service. From initial chat in store through to the design of our kitchen to ordering. Kept in touch all the time too.
We had an awkward supporting pillar to design around and also really wanted a walk in corner larder. We are still awaiting on delivery of our kitchen which hopefully is soon and i cant wait to see her design come to life.
Hannah is extremely friendly, and very knowledgable. She is most certainly an asset to J&J Kitchens at The Range, Portsmouth.

"The amazing Hannah☆"
I dont recall having had a better experience anywhere. Hannah was a godsend. From understanding I never purchased a kitchen before to the minute details and quirks I kept changing, not once did she make me feel uncomfortable or unable to voice my own wishes. The end result was a magnificent design, excellent solutions and a very happy customer.
I cannot recommend Hannah's services highly enough! For anyone who might have doubts, drop them, you have nothing to worry about!

"Brilliant service totally recommend"
Wow, what can I say, from the off set Hannah has been an absolute star. From helping me in the show room picking my kitchen to coming round my house and measuring up and designing my kitchen, all in 2 days. How she managed to get the appliances in and cupboard space in my small kitchen is totally beyond me. Took so much stress away. Totally recommend and Hannah is a credit. Thank you

"Avoid - third of reviews are 1 star"
In October we had a Jonas and James designer come to our house to measure for a kitchen. He measured wrong and the end result was we ended up with a dishwasher too large which J&J have refused to take back. This after the designer expressly told us The Range would accept anything back we didn’t need. Clearly we don’t need the dishwasher, it doesn’t fit because he measured wrong. Anyway here is my email from J&J blaming me for their designers incompetence. This is what to expect when something goes wrong. 33% of reviews are 1 star so avoid unless you want Claire writing to you like this.
Kitchen purchases can be complex, however, we assure you that every effort is made to get back to our customers as quickly as we can. We are very sorry for any frustrations caused whilst your case has been under review.
As a supply-only retailer, we strive to ensure our designers are completely transparent and clear throughout our customer's journey, with our designers providing accurate information. To ensure no information given verbally is ambigious we also provide a comprehensive installation guide, as well a copy of our Terms & Conditions, so that our customers have all the correct and full information pertaining to their kitchen purchase and our services. I have attached copies, including your signed copy of the T&Cs for ease of reference.
Our designers will undertake a free initial home visit for the purpose to gather as much information as possible to assist them in the design process. In our order documentation, we expressly state that, “Our designers are not technical experts and you or your Installer should have checked that all measurements are correct and that cabinets and appliances are the correct model or specification. You or your Installer should have checked that the kitchen can be installed as designed. We cannot accept any liability for any costs incurred as a result of failure to carry out the above.”
We understand you checked your items after delivery, within the 14-day reporting time, however, this is for any potential damages, faults or missing items. In our installation guide we reinforce the above message, stating “As per our terms and conditions a pre installation survey is required by your chosen installer to check all measurements and order details for accuracy. We cannot be held accountable for any measurement issues highlighted during installation, where a pre-installation survey has not been completed. You can make changes up to 14 days prior to delivery, after this time additional costs may be incurred. We are a retailer only, our designers typically have no experience of actually fitting kitchens themselves and they therefore cannot identify some of the issues which occur during the normal fitting process. It would appear that you did not commission a pre-installation survey or, if you did, then it was the provider of that survey who would be liable, not ourselves.
We do not wish to hear that our customers are experiencing issues in finishing their kitchen project and we would like to assist as best we can. Whilst, outside of the reporting timeframe, we are prepared to send out a replacement appliance door free of charge.
In regard to the original dishwasher, again this has not been brought to our attention within the reporting time, although if not faulty or damaged this would not apply. However, in circumstances if an unused appliance is found to not meet the customer's requirements (change of mind), and it reported within 28 days, a collection could be considered for a full refund. Unfortunately, as this time has passed we are no longer in a position where a collection and refund is possible under a change of mind. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause.
As previously said, 33% of reviews are 1 star. That’s a one in three chance you wish you’d gone to Howdens or B&Q.
What I can expect now is another copied and pasted response from Claire but nothing they say now will help. Their designer measured wrong, my fault. Quoting T&C is not customer service.

"The Range Coventry - great quality and excellent service"
I had concerns about the quality of a kitchen from The Range but Daljit was brilliant and took time to show me how the quality and his service levels were significantly better than competitors.
Daljit also took great care and attention and designed a well thought out, practical kitchen with numerous onsite visits to go through the quirks of the space and to clearly and expertly advise on what would work best for me.
Daljit spent time to understand me and my style and helped my ideas and thoughts become reality, right from the start he totally got me and produced a CAD that allowed me to finally see how my ideas would look before placing the order.
The kitchen was delivered on time and after only 3 weeks; there were a few minor product faults along the way but Daljit resolved everything quickly and calmly with replacement parts following on quickly - now the kitchen cupboards and appliances are excellent.
Daljit also worked hard to get the very best price for me and was able to offer personal rather than professional advise on kitchen fitters of good reputation....who, btw, have also been very good.
Buying a new kitchen is a stressful time as it's a lot of money, especially with the high fitting costs and in the current economy so I am extremely pleased with kitchen quality and with Daljit's work ethic and his service level.......my advice is go see Daljit in Coventry The Range, he'll create the perfect kitchen for you and it'll be great quality!

We found that not only was the service first class from start to finish, the product was far superior and Daljit was exceptional in every way
