I believe the wool is pulled over our eyes by sales reps and senior management. Cost of the points outweighs the benefit but we are only shown the tax deductible fees in their calculations (very cleverly done).
Why would someone lock themselves in to only being able to fly at very specific times based on the complete lack of availability of points flights whilst paying more then normal? Travel is a luxury so save your hard earned cash and fly with flexibility.
Also, being pulled up by the ATO on FBT implications who I understand are clamping down on “points” has caused a massive headache for my accountant & business.

It's all about getting luxurious upgrades. For someone who find it hard to spend a lot in one transaction. Pay.com.au basically facilitates achieving big in small, consolidated steps.
The staff is super helpful especially have to mention Irene whose customer skills keep me stick to this platform. Hope to have a lot of incentives at even a lesser rate in future.
