I put a complaint in against amigo on the 20/1/2020 got an email at 8 weeks saying they need another 4 weeks and guess what not even an email after the extra 4 weeks not a word! Absolutely ridiculous!

"Think twice before applying"

This company is so quick to lend you money but i don't they actually do all the back ground checks that they should. They lent me money and then topped it up even tho I had fallen behind with other companies and was in a debt management plan!!
I put in an affordability complaint against Amigo 8 weeks ago. They then have 8 weeks in which to investigate and issue a final response. During this time I'm still paying back my loan of which is less affordable now than it was 8 weeks ago due to covid19. Yesterday I got an email to say they needed a further 4 weeks to complete the investigation.
Amigo wasn't the only company I put a complaint into on that day there were a few but they are the only company that has needed extra time. I have had final response statements form all of the others.

It's now been 11 weeks and still no contact from amigo. Think it's time to contact the financial Ombudsman.

"Absolute Joke of a Company if you can call it that!!"

How the hell this company has got such a high rating on this site is beyond me!
All the good reviews must be from employees that work for Amigo or have been paid to write such a good review!
These thieves prey on the week and basically fleece them for every penny they have with no compassion what so ever!
My partner developed cancer and had to leave her job due to needing a lot of treatment which meant that all the bills had to be paid by myself, I spoke to Amigo to see if the payments could be reduced from the extortionate monthly fee they were charging me and in so many words they could not care less and demanded there money or would take the money from the guarantor, the guarantor was actually my partner and despite me telling them she had Cancer and obviously would not be able to pay Amigo still tried to take the money from her! Luckily I knew these thieves would try this so made damn sure there was no money in her bank for these robbers to take. After many rows Amigo finally decided to reduce the payments albeit only a small reduction. These people just have no compassion for anyone and could not care less about your situation...you just need to take a look at the recent reviews in regards to issues many people are having due to the Coronavirus and can clearly see they could not care less! As such I have put an affordability complaint in which was supposed to be responded to in 8 weeks which of course Amigo has failed to do and come up with the usual default response of “some cases are more complex than others” again looking at other reviews I can see Amigo have used this default response a number of times!! Due to Amigo not responding they are in breach of the rules and therefore I have happily sent the complaint to the financial ombudsman who seems to be very interested in Amigo at the moment due to there unfair lending and dodgy tactics! Hopefully Amigo will soon follow in Wongas footsteps and go into administration and then maybe all you un-compassionate people that work there will get a taste of your own medicine and understand how we feel! Do everyone a favour and just give up and do one Amigo!

"Terrible service and the poorest…"

Terrible service and the poorest communication ever. 14 month ago I made an arrangement to make a reduced payment due to being on Universal Credit, in Jan 2020 I started a new job and contacted AL to propose an increase to the original contracted amount with a review at 3 months to split any arrears over the remaining term
This proposal was refused as they would rather send threats of escalation to me and my guarantor than accept a reasonable proposal to repay the loan. I have had no response to my many emails other than a mail saying that they have been trying to work with me to obtain resolution which is utter nonsense. Absolutely abysmal service, they would rather escalate to the guarantor than accept a reasonable payment plan to repay the loan within its original term.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
PUT IN A COMPLAINT AND ESCALATE TO FCA

"Disgusting the way these people behave."

Disgusting the way these people behave.
They are sending me texts messages on EASTER SUNDAY threatening me with CCJs.
I have emailed them countless times but you are just harraresd by a different mobile number.
They know my situation but just continue to harass you hoping for a different answer.

Please could you direct me to the area where I can change the contact preferaces as to not include multiple texts mesaage and telephone calls 8am in the morning or Sunday's or religolius festivals.

"Cleared 80% of balance and applied to…"

Cleared 80% of balance and applied to top up the loan again using the same guarantor.
However this time my guarantor had months of his bank statements scrutinized and had to listen to the agent tell him he couldn't afford to guarantee my payments as he 'uses bargain booze a lot' even though that is out local late night shop, that sells sweets and snacks when others are shut.
So after loosely having it implied he was lying about what he was buying (which imo he shouldn of had to do) we was still told no he couldn't do it.
Normally that would all be well and fine,they can't do it no worries, what has made me decide not to use these again was how my guarantor was made to feel during the process and the fact he was told he cannot afford it yet the agent acknowledged if I missed any payments on the current loan my guarantor would have to pay, even thought not 2 minutes prior he was told he wasn't in a position to do so if I renewed.
If this is the case then surely my first loans affordability check on my guarantor wasn't sufficient enough.
So yes in short, invasive questions and bad attitude during the process has made me never want to deal with them again.

Hi
After writing the last two reviews, it seems this is the only way again to make contact..
I have recieved now a email yesterday and one today completely controdicting .....
Ahain the later one threatening action after the first offereing help..
I am awaware the person to read this can access my account and read all that has beennput and what i have sent..so please do...
Can it be comfirmed that filling in the form as directed first, will mean that my gaurentor, will not be contacted causing the trouble it did by mistakevlast time

Absolute Joke! STAY AWAY!

They refused to change my payment date by 5 days in January so I raised a complaint. I have an email stating that this wasn’t said and that there isn’t anything they can do. All calls are recorded aren’t they? Martin Lewis needs to investigate this disgraceful company.

"Wish my daughter had stayed away from…"

Wish my daughter had stayed away from this company her whole family had to isolate because of covid-19 because her little one had problems she phoned and explained and amigo give her a holiday so she had time to get back on her feet
I have had constant messages and now been told my credit file is going to have a default on i am a key worker and my stress levels are through the roof at the moment I will also be seeking legal advice about amigo loans not a pleasant company so if you feel desperate please think before taking a loan or been guarantor for this company

"Terrible company"

Terrible company. I lodged a complaint at the beginning of december. They left it 12 weeks before responding not upholding it. Luckily the ombudsman has reviewed it all & at week 15 the adjudicator at the ombudsman upheld my complaint on all 3 loans & gave amigo until the 27th of march to respond. As always, amigo havent even bothered to respond to them so now the adjudicator has escalated the case to the ombudsman themselves & if they uphold also, the case is legally binding & will be published for all to see how terrible this company is, especially at dealing with complaints. The longer they try their stalling techniques...the more money they will have to pay back if the ombudsman agrees with the adjudicator so its only going to keep looking even worse on the company. Wish they would just hurry up & reply so i can have them out of my life for good! Believe me i will make sure they know im still here waiting because i will be calling every 2 days to see if they have bothered to reply yet!
