"Very slow process"
I am currently the guarantor of a loan. To get this loan the process was VERY long it has taken about 3-4 weeks just for it to come into the bank, I understand they are busy with the current coronavirus situation but even before that they are very slow in getting back to you and you have to phone a lot to ask what’s happening and frequently you’re waiting 30+ minutes to get through on the phone
At first my application was accepted and I had to phone them to see where the money was and then they were saying it wasn’t accepted and a new term had to be created.. a long process. Although it is nice to see that they are not just giving money out to anyone
The repayment in terms of interest is actually quite low and they were always nice and understanding on the phone

"Several times on hold to just be cut…"
Several times on hold to just be cut off after 2 hours. Called straight back for another 2 hour wait... Really should be other means of contact during a global crisis..., emails not being responded too. Disgusting company. Will never use again.

"Great option to getting a loan"
Great option to getting a loan, that’s if you don’t have an issue getting an guarantor. Would just be nice if they lowered the interest for regular borrowers

"I have been trying to ring for 2 days…"
I have been trying to ring for 2 days now and still no answer I have emailed 7 times and still nothing I have been laid of work due to Coronavirus and so has my guarantor I have no money and this company is horrible I wish I didn’t get a loan they do not look after their customers

"PLEASE READ, DON’T END UP LIKE ME"
Do not get a loan with these people, no matter what you financial situation is.
I am facing 12 weeks of isolation due to severe health complications. After two calls of 2 hour wait and then to loose connection and no courtesy to call me back I emailed threes times
Now I appreciate you are busy and everyone is struggling but to receive an email to say they will put of my loan for a month but the interest will still rise and to be warned I will still be asked to pay and that’s all they can do, the email was actually quite comical in regards to being “helpful”
Please do not reply and apologise and say you are helping customers, you are not. I hope everyone takes their response and for who read this please contact the financial ombudsmen and ensure you have everything In writing, I was not asking for them to loose money or reduce my loan I will simply asking for breathing space as I have with other creditors who were more then happy to ensure I was ok and to give me the gap whilst off as everyone is in the same boat to ensure
For the 3 months I was able to financially support myself until returning to work
Amigo loans I hope you realise the utter emotional
Distress you have caused and others who take advantage and only in it for the money. In this current situation you would think we would help each other and we all know the government is backing all companies to be paid so there is no excuse but greed
Your disgusting pitiful and have no understanding even in a situation that effects yourselves as well as your customers who you tell you will “help”

"Coronavirus help?"
Once upon a time I really would have rated amigo loans, however I called them the other day to discuss payments as myself and my little one had been placed on self isolation for two weeks because he was showing signs and symptoms of having coronavirus resulting in me being forced onto ssp for two weeks, I also informed them that when I return to work my hours will be drastically reduced due to working in childcare and now only being permitted to have key workers children in, despite there website saying they can help in this time of crisis the first lady I spoke to was wonderful very sympathetic and also shared that she was also very worried due to also being a single parent, however the second lady I spoke to couldn't care less she told me I could either make payments in full, or complete a new budget plan where if they reduce my payment they will go after my guarantor for the excess or if I miss my payments they will just chase my guarantor to pay the full amount, now whilst I appreciate a guarantor agrees to step in where you cant pay however nobody envisioned a global pandemic, I have spent the last couple of days completely freaking out because if I cant pay there is no leeway they will just go for your guarantor, mine who also happens to be on very reduced hours due to coronavirus. Perhaps you should consider taking the information off your website saying you will help customers who are affected by coronavirus because clearly that is not the case.
I also see the same generic reply to anybody who has reviewed in a similar way to email you, however I've already spoken to a accounts manager the very second I realised payments may become unmanageable, which is exactly where I was given the information about completing a new budget plan but you still going for my guarantor. Every other payment before now has been made on time. You would think you would show some compassion toward people in what is a never seen before situation.

"Rather more complicated than first…"
Rather more complicated than first application. My guarantor found some of the criteria more stressful and rigid.

"Responding to Jane"
Responding to Jane
How stupid do amigos think people really are ???
Why would jane who got a loan over a year ago be reviewing amigo loans a whole year later and in the process outlining negative comments regarding people repaying loans and giving a negative review of the Situation
I think 1 of 2 things amigos have asked little old Jane to write a review or amigos have wrote the review ?
It’s Be hinted on here by numerous reviews that daily you flood your trust pilot reviews with fake positive feedback is this true amigos ?
Jane gets a loan over a year ago and writes a review now 😂😂
Just to clarify amigos have reported this post as false claims towards amigos
First of all it wasn’t a claim it was a question as you can quite clearly see And claiming I’ve attacked another reviewer again I didn’t attack anyone I asked a question again asking why would jane take a loan out a year ago an post now
But it seems to me amigos are a little nervous about the questions I am asking as a current customer going through a complaint process with them I won’t highlight what kind of complaint I’m fully within my write to comment an highlight the Questions needing answered it’s funny they can reply to this but not me
Continued - so we are now at 15 weeks nearly 16 weeks into a complaint that was started in January the 26 it’s now may now whilst I appreciate right now is a ridiculous testing time for everyone including amigos buttttt in saying that we went into lockdown the 23 rd of April they have been dragging this response out way before any lock down was put into place now my complaint isn’t a straight forward cash cow complaints I was fuelled by the way I was treated at Xmas when my dad passed away I asked for a payment holiday an was made to feel this was impossible an would spiral me further into debt which an extra few months on a loan I was locked into for 5 years at 200 a month with an income of about 600 which was leaving me with 4 to run a house look after 2 kids pay priority bills etc didn’t seem like a bad option but the lady was adamant I made my payments and over the course of 4 weeks I made some some enquires regarding amigos and was honestly shocked at what I found my main concern was a pilot amigos was running to directly accept loans from disadvantaged desperate people like myself cause let’s face it that’s the only reason your getting the loan in the first place with these kind of rates ones with low income and low credit score ones that are more likely to get into debt an not be able to keep on top of your amigo monthly payments they specifically put aside millions in redress payments for when the financial collapse of these people would happen to 1 be able to put money back into the business that they have lost or to pay back legitimate compensation claims where they been upheld via amigos or the fos 2 the founder of amigos came back on board in December to help the company a company that was failing large not only it’s customers but it’s investors it’s work force he wanted them to either challenged the fos on the way the way dealing with complaints made about amigos because something just wasn’t adding up or fold go into administration he’s now resigned again
The founder of of amigos James Benamor statement is that one of an eye opener and I suggest if you have multiple loans form amigos this will only highlight exactly how this company operates and of course amigos rejected his claims through another genetic response but doubt a man who founded the company would be prepared to takes such drastic action if he wasn’t commimg from a good place he’s trying to protect his net worth that he created But somewhere along the line they messed up and he’s acknowledging that
The fact now amigos are now trying to sell the company speaks volumes of there rejection mr James Benamor statement
Now I’m not saying that every Loan they ever sold was misssold or incorrect checks was performed but if you have had more then 4 tops up started with a payment of 44 now payments of 200 more then likely someone has messed up somewhere If you had a top up loan and a phone call was involved with you or your guarantor more then likely someone messed up with I’ve had 6 loans in totol out with amigos in the course of a 3 n half year period there was barley 6 months in between the loans at one point I only had this as my sole debt joining amigos I’m now further into debt that would take about ten years to resolve in total I’ve had to get extra loans as been struggling for years with repayments my point is if you genuinely have a affordability complaint or any complaints and you have not receive a response in 8 weeks unlike the email stating I would have to wait for a final response form amigos at the 8 weeks stage demand your final response to said claim give them another week to respond if no response take it straight to the fos and make the call not email
