"Disgusting customer services"
Disgusting customer services, mirroring the previous two complaints! Been trying to contact amigo since March 19, sent several emails and got one response around 2/3 days later then been completely ignored since. I have another loan where the company contacted me, explained that the understood how the worlds been turned upside down and have put my account on hold until we see what’s happening with peoples wages and when a return to work is possible. That’s good customer service, amigo on the other hand.. pounding me with threatening emails and texts but never ever replying or make further contact, letting the account fall further and further into arrears deliberately. I would 100% avoid amigo at all cost as there are loads off better companies out there who genuinely care about you. Amigo don’t give a **** about you and when any situation occurs they turn into bullies with constant harassment.

"Absolute joke"
Absolute joke. Lost my job at the end of last year, have a new job now on a lot less money. Tried calling and emailing about trying to lower my payments and clear arrears of 1 payment that I’m in. I get no response whatsoever apart from the threatening emails and txts that myself and guarantor receive. Makes me laugh how they can respond to a complaint on here made 11 hours ago but can’t respond to an email I sent 13 hours ago!

"Lies to hook you in"
I asked my mum to be my guarantor. She obliged and my loan was granted and then topped up. Unbeknown to me my mum was £40k in debt and now I am in financial hardship she can’t afford the payments. No credit check on my mum was carried out. We have realised a complaint with the ombudsman as Amigo just insist she pay! Sharks
Update- if you read the guidelines for being a responsible lender you cannot just go on an income and expenditure form and take it as read that the information is correct. Your duty as a lender is to credit check the guarantor. Your adverts state of your guarantor is a homeowner with good credit!! My mums is terrible. You should never have approved the loan.

If I could rate this a minus I would, I’ve been paying them the amount agreed for a while now and literally every 6 wks they seem to suddenly forget my DOB and my account goes into arrears and I get crappy text messages and all sorts. Then I ring them and the whole process starts again. I’ve even had on collection date a text message to say funds haven’t been paid, so I’ve rang them and funds were then paid less than 20 mins after the original text. I’ve paid online and them payments don’t seem to make it to my file and I’ve had payment codes sent to my mobile and then don’t seem to be recognised either......they take NO responsibility for suddenly not knowing my post code or my DOB and the app has never worked.... I wish I hadn’t gone anywhere near them and I’ve been to dark places due to this debt. You just can’t seem to get an answer from them.....

I have emailed you and called you with no response. I asked for a 2 month break on my loan as I lost my job due to Coronavirus. I understand you are dealing with high volumes of calls and messages but it’s not good enough. Other companies are dealing with the same but they are able to get back to their customers.
My payment was still taken from my account and that is all the money I had. Please can somebody contact me as this is a very stressful situation for all. I obviously don’t want to go into arrears but freezing my payments for 2 months and extending my final payment date is all I was asking. I have never missed a payment and consider myself a good customer. Please help!!!!

"No compassion, poor customer service, huge interest"
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all my income was dramatically been affected. When the lockdown was announced we contact amigo loans to make them aware that our income will be affected and we goona need to find another payment plan or to freeze the payments till this lockdown is over. They said they gonna offer some breathing deadline and to call them back when we are ready to pay. After a few days, we received messages as a warning that our credit file will be affected if we don't pay in 24 hours even the deadline promised was much longer. Now because I care about my credit file, I had to pay the full payment in areas, now being left with nothing struggling to pay my rent, buy food, and pay for basic bills like electricity or gas. They kept their big interest there, showing no compassion for the actual situation we are all in, even we didn't miss any payments before and we always paid their huge interest on time. Very disappointed, not recommending this service to anyone. Thank you
