Floor Mats UK

"This company must be exposed."
I had exactly the same experience as all the other people who complained. The floor mat broke into little very sharp pieces within a fortnight. They asked me to send it back at my expense. I declined. Then they asked for photos which I sent. All obviously a delaying tactic. The person I was dealing with, Kutay Kazbeck, has now stopped anwering my emails. First a replacement mat was promised which never arrived. Then I asked for a refund and since then silence. I have tried to ring the company in the UK and in Germany. You can't get through as after a few minutes, the recorded message says that they are to busy to take your call or a closed. I have put in a dispute claim with my card company. I have also informed the German Consumer Association of the shady dealings of this company. I have also informed the McAfee Web Advisor who rated this company as safe, that it is not. I shall also write to Which, You and Yours and some consumer pages in National newspapers. This company must be stopped scamming people.

"Chair mat unfit for purpose"
I purchased a chair mat to protect the carpet beneath my desk chair. In view of the company's advertised name "UK Floor mats", I was somewhat surprised when it arrived from GERMANY!
Within a few days of receiving it , a piece broke away from the edge, so I contacted the supplier who responded that the only way my claim could be considered was for me to return the mat to germany. An enquiry to the Post office revealed the cost of doing this was totally uneconomical.
I have now been using the mat for around 2 monthes and it is breaking into small pieces. Clearly, completely unfit for purpose

"Scam company"
Scam company. Do not buy from them. Office chair mats are poor quality and shatter immediately. They won’t collect and ask you to post back to Germany for inspection which is expensive. One even arrived broken and they didn’t refund. Their website must be full of altered reviews

"DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS BUSINESS."
In short – DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS BUSINESS. In detail here is why.
I had a carpet protect chair mat in my office which was very old and had started to crack and break. The cost was circa £20, and it had lasted many years so no cause for complaint.
I decided to purchase a replacement but spend a bit more for better quality as I was in the process of completely refurbishing my office. This led me to the website floormats.co.uk.
I selected the Chair Mat for Carpet Floors - PRO Series (transparent) product, which appeared suitable in design and size for my requirements and the cost was £49.99. On the floormats.co.uk website the product was rated 5-star from 257 reviews and none of the reviews were below 4stars. The product details stated, ‘high-quality polycarbonate’, ‘high-lifetime polycarbonate’ and ‘crack-, curl-, break-, scratch- and yellow-resistant’ so naturally I was expecting an excellent product that was fit for purpose and would be long lasting.
The product arrived timely enough, but it was not used until the office refurbishment was completed a few weeks later. After no more than 10 weeks of use, the chair mat cracked whilst in normal everyday use. The crack emanated from one of the underside carpet gripper studs and was approximately 9cm in length.
I emailed Floormats UK with full details requesting a replacement under warranty as the product was only 3-months old. I received a same day reply and this is where I realised, I had been duped into purchasing a product that was marketed as a high-end product at a premium price but was in fact a substandard product that was not fit for purpose.
The reply stated I would have to return the product to Germany, which obviously was not economically viable for a product of that size/weight costing £49.99. The email was polite enough but clearly both parties knew it was cost prohibitive to return the product and I suspected if I did, I would be even further out of pocket.
At that stage I did what I should have done before placing my order, I checked Floormats UK on Trustpilot. The reviews were scathing and completely in line with my experience; a high priced, substandard product that was not fit for purpose and an obstructive after sales process.
I replied back to Floormats UK with a couple pictures of the faulty product. I also highlighted to Floormats UK the company rating on Trustpilot to which I got a further reply stating I had to return the product to Germany for inspection. At this stage I was in no doubt that to send the product back would not result in a replacement or refund and I would just be throwing good money after bad. I replied again to Floormats UK stating:
A. This faulty product is not an outlier that has somehow managed to slip through your quality control procedures
B. The company you represent are well aware of the substandard product you are marketing as a quality product and selling at an inflated price
C. The companies modus operandi is to:
i. sell a substandard product, marketed as high quality at inflated prices
ii. ensure the returns process is cost prohibitive
iii. ignore genuine customer complaints
I did not get a reply from Floormats UK.
I reviewed the onerous terms and conditions on Floormats UK website and note that their returns process requires I obtain a returns reference number. The wording on the website is: ‘please do not send the item back to us before first obtaining a reference number’. Floormats UK had in a couple of emails asked to return the product to Germany but had not supplied the required reference number. If I had returned the product without the reference number, no doubt Floormats UK would have rejected the return for not quoting the returns reference number, leading to more problems and cost.
Still, no response from Floormats UK.
I revisited the Floormats UK website and left a product review on the 8th January 2021, which was fair and accurate. The review summary was ‘Buyer Beware – Substandard Product and Poor After Sales’. The review has not yet been published on their website and I do not expect it to be.
I still do not have a rely to my last two emails to Floormats UK and I do not expect to receive a reply either.
I do not like writing negative reviews, sometimes things go wrong, and it cannot be helped. I have taken the time to write this review in the hope it will help someone avoid falling foul of this business. Other reviews on Trustpilot refer to Floormats UK as Charlatans, Criminal and Disgusting. I agree.

"I wrote a review previously echoing…"
I wrote a review previously echoing similar experiences to peope who have posted on this site. In my case, I referred the purchase to MasterCard and raised a claim against Flootmats Uk. The claim was uncontested and I received a full refund. I would urge dissatisfied customers to do the same.

"I dearly wish that I had read reviews…"
I dearly wish that I had read reviews before ordering from this company. I ordered a mat for the kitchen. When it arrived, the rubber edge was torn in 2 places. I immediately contacted them to advise them and was given nothing but excuses. They insisted that I photograph the damage and send them the evidence which I did. I did not want a replacement as I felt the merchandise was under par (their website photographs are VERY WELL TAKEN!). I requested a full refund but discovered that I had to return the mat to Germany at MY OWN EXPENSE. They offered me a 16% discount to keep the mat which was £3.19. The mat sits in a place where it will not be seen so I will get some use from it until it falls apart when I wash it! BE WARNED AND DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THE NAME INDICATES THAT THEY ARE A UK COMPANY BUT OBVIOUSLY THEY SHIP THEIR GOOD FROM GERMANY.

"Never again"
Ordered a mat - didn’t arrive. They say they sent a replacement - didn’t arrive.
No response to emails or phone calls asking for my money back.
Thankfully PayPal refunded my money.
Wish I’d read these reviews before placing my order. One star because I can’t give them zero.
