"Fluent is a terrible. Stay away!"

Fluent is a terrible company. They bought out our contract with Alarmtec after we had them for a few years. In September 2019 they sent us a contract renewal form that was full of errors, including our address and names. When we sent it back to them requesting they fix them, they never contacted us. Then in summer of 2020 our battery was dying and caused the system to beep all night, every night. When we called they apparently sent us a new one that never came. Once the warm weather was over it stopped beeping so we forgot about it. Then it started again and we decided to cancel our services. Then they claim they will do anything they can to fix the system, so that we have to pay out our contract. They claim that since we didn’t sign the new contract, our original 2012 Alarmtec contract’s auto-renewal clause is still in effect. Basically we still owed them $450 to end this contract. We didn’t see a way to pay a lawyer less than this to fight it and didn’t want our credit score affected. Stay away! They will take your money and do not provide any service!

"My Experience with Fluent Home LLC"

On September 8, 2020 Travus Lemon came to our door and stated he was with Fluent Home LLC and that they were installing a security system next door, he wanted to know if we were interested, I told him no; but after he left my significant other said: "Maybe that is not so bad of an idea" so I called him on his Cell Phone and told him to come back. (Big Mistake)
Travus came back and gave us his spiel he handed me a contract with such fine print you would need a magnifying glass to read it. I did see it said 5 years so I told him we were not interested in signing a 5 year contract he stated that inamuch as they were just reactivating an old system we were exempt from a 5 year contract and that he would note that when he sent the paperwork to his home office. Well, I took him on his word, another big mistake. We had an old Apex Sign in front of our house and he asked me if I wanted to keep it, I told him yes. After the old system was reactivated he left and I went outside to retrieve the old Apex Sign, it was nowhere to be found so I called him on his Cell Phone and he said that his technician must have taken it, I told him that I wanted the sign to which he said he would see what he could do. A couple of days went by and I did not hear from Travus which got me thinking so I looked up Truent Home LLC with the Better Business Bureau and to my shock saw complaint after complaint about their service and the 5 year contracts that many buyers felt they had been conned into. To make matters worse the 5 year contract included an automatic 3 year renewal unless you cancelled the original contract 30 days before it expired.
I called Fluent Home LLC and was told that we had a 5 year contract at $46.00 per month and if I wanted to cancel it I would have to pay them $2,760.00 I explained to them that was not my understanding and that their salesman supposedly noted that we were exempt and that we could cancel anytime without penalty. To no avail we appeared to be stuck.
I started reading each and every complaint about this company and found one particular one where the salesman had failed to get a Solicitor's Permit so I called the City Offices where Business Licenses are issued, I was told they got their Business License in February, 2020 but for some reason it was not mailed out to them until October 8, 2020 - I decided to check with the Sheriff's Department who issues the Solicitor's Permits and found none had been issued to them. It pays to check. I advised Fluent Home LLC that we have an ordnance here where you are required to have a Solicitor's License in order to sell from door to door. After a lot of back and forth Emails I received a letter from Fluent, one paragraph in the letter stated the following: This Letter serves as official confirmation that your Fluent Account has been cancelled effective 12/3/20 - There are no moneys owed to Fluent". They also stated that we would get a full refund of what we paid.
Fortunately for us this experience had a happy ending, I feel sorry for so many others who have been caught up in a 5 to 8 year contract and no way of getting out of it. Most of these Alarm System Companies require anywhere from 2 to 5 year contracts so to all who read my experience: "BEWARE"

"DO NOT RECOMMEND"

Fluent home security is the biggest joke of a company I’ve ever dealt with. They took over my Grampas previous alarm system 3 years ago, took advantage of him and got him to sign a 5 year contract. For the past year it hasn’t been working. Their technicians over the phone have no idea what’s going on or don’t call back to help and they have no one in Regina that can come look at it supposedly (even though they have sales people walking door to door harassing people to sign up). Now I’m telling them we have moved and with 2 years left of the contract I’d rather pay out a lump fee and have it done with and they are refusing to give me the payout amount due to “privacy” (even though I’m power of attorney). They won’t answer my emails anymore and when I call nothing changes. Worst customer service ever!! #fluent #fluenthome #fluenthomesecurity #homesecuritysystem

"BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE OF FLUENT!"

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE OF FLUENT!! If I could give them no stars, I would. This is a terrible company. Very very deceptive business practices. DO NOT get roped into a contract with them or you will never get out of it. We signed a 36 month contract with them on September 7, 2018. Then over the course of the next year they sent a contract to me and said that I had not signed everything properly. When I read the fine print, it was an updated contract that would have locked us into and ADDITIONAL 5 years! When I called them out on this, the customer service guy was so ugly to me. Then we were told that to cancel the contract we would have to pay a portion of the contract that was left. A "portion". Not the full amount but a portion. We opted to wait until we were in our last year of our contract and when I called today to cancel and pay the "portion" that they had previously stated that I needed to pay, they informed me that I had taken an "installation phone survey" and in that survey had agreed to a 42 month contract. That never happened. Somehow, they are not able to retrieve my original contract OR the recording of the phone survey. SCAM SCAM SCAM. I have never dealt with a company that has so many different stories, shady actions and deceptive business practices. BEWARE OF FLUENT! I am now in the process of filing a formal complaint with the State of Texas Attorney General's office. I am done playing their games. How many other people have they done this to? How many more will fall for their lies? Please don't be one of them. What a headache this has been.

"Poor Business etiquette and management"

Morning everyone who’s worked for fluent home services. I am writing this letter today to inform you that I no longer require your services due to poor customer service and customer care from your company you guys can take my contract rip it up you guys can come get your equipment but as for me paying any further I will not be paying you any further payments to your company. I am not paying for something that doesn’t work Properly or there’s never anybody available to fix it right. I am tired of your poor business management and I’m tired of your poor business etiquette. I have been with you for years I’ve never had this many headaches with any company or corporation as for yours. I am no longer continuing my services if I find out that you guys are redeeming anymore any money out of my bank account or making any transactions without my permission I will have your company investigated. I have pleaded and I have asked to speak to the proper people you guys have refuse to do so I’ve asked to speak to the proper channels and still have not received the proper channels regarding my inquiries. I’m tired of the constant long wait times I am tired of the constant money for this money for that money BS.
You know your company should honour your freaking goddamn customer like you say your company does. but I really haven’t seen it, all I’ve had is headaches from the very beginning. If your company honoured their customers you wouldn’t be constantly asking for installation fees any anytime anybody moves or has something to be installed. Other companies honour there customers, just not yours. This company has very very poor business etiquette and business management and your company should really, really fix it. I will be taking my business somewhere else I will be cancelling all transactions. I will be terminating my services with company due To all the headaches that have transpired with your company and agency. I have asked many times to speak to a MANGER or the OWNER of this business And your customer care reps, your technical department and all other departments refuse to let me speak to the OWNER or MANAGER of this corporation. so your Company/corporations refusal to accommodate has lead me to refuse any more services from COMPANY/Corporation. your refusal to cooperate with your customers has led me to refuse any more services OR on On GOING PAYMENTS TO THIS COMPANY / CORPORATION. Your companies un cooperation has lead me to To terminate all my services period. Thank you and have a great day.

"Avoid this company"

I have filed complaints about this company with the Better Business Bureau and the Washington State Attorney General. Fluent Home replied and basically said "Screw you. It's enforceable."
Dealing with this company is costing me $548.76 for services I attempted to cancel in a timely manner.
They showed up on my doorstep in 2016. I signed a 39-month contract with them, which converted to an open-ended agreement at the end of 39 months. The rep who contacted me to extend my contract indicated that the extension was month-to-month.
On September 24, 2020, I called them to cancel my service. The rep offered me a discount on monitoring and when I declined, told me to send an email, which I composed and sent while he was on the phone with me. On September 28, 2020, I got an email from another rep who said that she was sorry I was canceling my service and that someone from the Resolutions Team would be contacting me within 24-48 hours. I didn't hear anything further from anyone.
I was shocked when they took $45.73 out of my checking account on 10/27/2020.
I called on October 30 to deal with the Resolutions Team.
I talked to a member of the Resolutions Team, who said that my open-ended agreement was year-to-year, not month-to-month, and that it had auto-renewed for a year THAT DAY. They need a written signature 30 days before the end of the service year, which was October 1 in my case. Had either of the reps I spoke with mentioned that, I could have canceled within that 30 day time frame. Now, I can pay over $400 to get out of my contract, continue for the year and pay them over $500 or get sent to collections.

"This is a terrible company"

This is a terrible company. Please don't sign up for them. Okay, so their salesperson lied to me. He told me that I would not be signing a contract. Then I ended up with a 5 year contract at a higher rate than I could get at other companies. He told me that the company would buy out my other company since I had 6 months left. Today I get a letter from a collection agency that they had not paid it. I had to pay if up front to prevent it from affecting my credit score. Then I had to call them. They are a horrible company to deal with.

"Buyer beware!!!!"

I am so disappointed in this company I cannot wait till our contract is up with them. First of all when I moved my house address changed only!!!!they now had the new address we decided to test the alarm since we had problems in the past. We tested our alarm but were not getting phone calls turns out they had the completely wrong phone
Number when the phone number should have never changed in the first place!! Very stupid on there end!! Now I need a tech to come look at my cameras because they are not playing back at the new address and move one of my cameras. I altered my whole day TWICE and got phone calls half hour before tech was supposed to arrive that they are sorry and the tech cannot make it. I understand this happening once but twice in the same week they did this!! The people scheduling techs to come and cancelling an hour before are the worst!!! NEVER use this company you will not be safe I do not feel safe having this company monitor my home. There’s also been multiple times they have not asked me my verbal password and still helped me over the phone. Scary because anyone can read your mail and give all the correct info to disarm your alarm!!! I wouldn’t even give this company one star but I had to so it’s zero stars for me!
