"Very slow and long process"

My deposits are better at replying to these comments on Trust Pilot, than emails. I was incredibly disappointed with the communication and service from this company.

"Do not use as a tenant"

Unsurprisingly the majority of disgruntled reviews are from tenants and positives from landlord. Tenants that go through the adjudication by elimination are clearly more likely ones to feel like they have a case and therefore it would seem logical that more tenants would feel happy with the adjudication process if a deposit scheme is unbiased. The tenant can only respond to the landlords claim, there is no space for a tenant to report breeches of contract by a landlord or other information which may reveal why communication with a landlord may break down. The landlord is also allowed to comment on the tenants evidence- I am not sure why this is justified. Very angry at the lack of advocacy for tenants and the state of the private rental system which is deeply unfair. The culture of private rental is this country is depressing. These places are peoples homes and where families are raised.

"UNPROFESSIONAL WASTE OF SPACE!!!!!!"

This company are a complete waste of space!!!
My long term tenant left after 12 years completely trashing the house leaving me with a £5500 repair bill so naturally i was going to keep the £650 deposit which was held by my deposits until this very unprofessional company got involved and returned the bulk of the deposit to the tenant even though i sent the all relevant proof of damage including photos invoices etc etc. LANDLORDS Please take my advice and avoid this company like the plague!!!!!!

"We logged a dispute last year…"

We logged a dispute last year October...went through the entire process respecting the timeliness and not harassing the mydepsit scheme. In January the adjudicator resolved and concluded that our full deposit be returned. Start February we received notification that full deposit will be paid in 5 days...NOTHING,after communicating they requested updated bank details, which we submitted twice and telephonic acknowledgement that they received the updated information,today 23 March still no repayment ,we call and every week get same response "within 5 days",over 25 working days came and went ,what next ?How? Are the company holding on to money to maximise interest ?Phoning and requesting just resolves to "we will contact or log your complaint to accounts department and they will pay in 5 working days "just never happens...so on almost 6 months from uncontested return of deposit and almost 3 months from resolution by adjudicator still no return of money...

They have been holding my deposit for more than 3 months! They do not response any of my emails. There is NO online chat service either.

I feel like they are psychologically pushing me to give up and accept ridiculous deductions from the lier landlords. This company needs to shut down!

"Mydeposit company shockingly extremely…"

Mydeposit company shockingly extremely poor service. TENANTS STEER CLEAR! No response to email communication. Website doesn't function when need to submit evidence. Not keeping to their own timelines, Landlord being given months to provide evidence versus the tenant only 2 weeks, website crashed when needed to provide evidence. No updates on the process unless phone and even then clarity of communication is lacking, no clear understanding of process and reasoning provided.

Left property in November 2022 and it's now 4 months later March 2023 and I still do not have my deposit back or any resolution despite having provided a lot of evidence and spent many hours trying to get my money back, 'trying to' communicate with mydeposits, with very little success. The landlord is said to be given '2 weeks' to provide evidence, but mine was actually provided two months to provide evidence - I was given only 2 weeks and when requested an extension due to my kids being on half term and me having less time (single parent living out of one room with my two young children in temporary housing provided by Council as a result of this eviction, plus no deposit money back from this house) I was told this was not possible and I needed to provide evidence or forfeit my money basically (why the difference for landlord and tenant on this?). Constant chasing on this with no efforts to update me and respond to communication at all.

It's now 20th March and I still do not have my money back. DO NOT TAKE A RENTAL AGREEMENT IF THE LETTING AGENT OR LANDLORD IS USING THIS COMPANY! You will not get your money back in time to rent a new property leaving you most likely homeless and moneyless.
