"This company is a complete joke!!"

This company is a complete joke!!

Worst financial company I have ever had to deal with.

James Hay have been a total incompetent nightmare to deal with. A simple pension transfer from a deceased parent should not take 8 months to achieve.

There has been a total lack of communication from them meaning I have spent hours on the phone chasing them at every stage. Having finally sorted the transfer into a SIPP in my name, I awaited details of their online system all I got was a letter showing me how my investment would go down in value over the years, but with no ability or information on how to invest it or access to this mythical online system.

Every time I phone up I have to talk to someone new who then has to go through the entire saga once again. Got so frustrated hat I just closed my account and asked for my money back. For 8 weeks I have been and continuously fobbed off with a statement that I would get a letter within 5 working days or the promise of a call back once the new person on the phone had found some information as to the status of my holdings no letter and no call back. 3 escalations but no reason as to why they cannot transfer me the money that is in a cash account. Every promise of payment is missed and no call backs are made. This company is totally incompetent and I'd advise anyone to stay well away.

Looking at other feedbacks it is clear that I am not alone, but worrying that any good feedback seems to be people giving them money and all the bad feedback is people unable to get their money back.

"A very poor experience"

I transferred my pension out from James Hay after years of frustration with the customer experience. The transfer took about 8 months in total. A farce. They paid me some compensation but truly, this is one of the most awful companies I've ever dealt with. It's a shame because the employees are generally bright, friendly and knowledgeable. The business processes are utterly useless however. You think they are doing something, but tasks invariably exit from somebody's task list and disappear into a black hole, uncompleted.

"Incompetent, or intentional withholding?"

Extremely disappointed in the service and communication at James Hay.

We were named beneficiaries in November 2023, it is now 8 months later and have been frankly given the run around on forms, communication and information. There is never a clear answer, in fact, they have not contacted us directly, we have had to chase them for contact.

We have been advised on a number of occasions that they have posted a letter, which never arrives. It is 2024, postal letter is neither the most efficient or secure way to communicate, it is beyond comprehension as to why they have not improved their systems to manage communication better.

Upon making a complaint, I was told quite rudely it would take 4 to 8 weeks before this is even looked into. Completely unacceptable timeframe for complaint resolution, particularly where you are losing interest on money they are holding.

I have serious concerns that they are delaying for reasons other than they are incompetent, inefficient or lazy.

I had considered investing with James Hay and am now extremely grateful that I have not.

"Direct debit "

6 months and I'm still waiting for my direct debit to go through,have been promised by an adviser it will definitely happen this month,yet again it hasn't absolute joke, can't wait to hear what excuse they got this time.Any other firm will take minutes to set up a direct debit,why can't James Hay
