"I took out a policy with these guys"

I took out a policy with these guys, but then was offered a substantially more competitive price elsewhere. I phoned up about 20 minutes later to cancel (the policy wasn't even active yet and still isn't) but was told I'd have to pay a £50 cancellation fee for a service I'm not yet receiving.

I'd suggest checking elsewhere first.
