"Two roses died within the five years"
Two roses died within the five years. The two did not develop past 10 inches and eventually died. No response from David Austin Roses. Very Disappointed.

"Yep. Zero Option Needed Here"
I truly wish I had read and believed these reviews before ordering. I was so taken with gorgeous the David Austin website, with it's photogrphs of healthy amazing roses and all the helpful advice, that I never once doubted the quality of its roses.
That is until my pricy and much anticipated potted roses arrived today - covered in black-spot fungus.
The roses could not have developed this level of disease in a few days of shipping, so they must have been packaged and shipped diseased.
Looking at the other reviews it seems this grower has gotten sloppy both in production practices and in quality control when shipping.
The plants I received (and I was home when Fed Ex arrived and opened the box immediately) looked like the sick, sad plants you find in the "reduced" pile at a big box store - they just cost a whole lot more. Precisely, $35 each for two one-quart plants plus $19.95 shipping.
So I paid $89.95 for two diseased plants that need to be destroyed before they infect the other plants in my garden.
Lesson learned. I will not reorder from this company.
Hopefully David Austin will honor the refund request I submitted online and review the email and pictures I sent. The reply I received said it would take 5 days before they could respond (high volume of customer inquires).
Hmmm. Wonder why ....And they don't answer calls after 5 pm on Fridays, so I couldn't speak to anyone directly today.
Just hoping to get my money back.

"A Long Wait and Frustration"
I had always thought that David Austin roses was the premiere site for the best roses in the world. Wish that I had read some of the Trustpilot reviews. When almost half the reviews posted are 1 star—that is definitely a red flag. I ordered four roses last summer. I wanted those lovely ancient roses that are spectacular and smell wonderful. They only bloom once in spring, but are worth it. Of all the varieties, only one type was available. They listed nearly all, but they were not available. Okay. Ordered the one ancient type they had, and three other kinds. Received the bare-root roses after some months, and, since they shipped them for some reason when we were still having spring frosts, put them in pots. Watched their videos for planting and caring and followed every step. Finally got warmer and I planted them in a nice prepared bed with full sun. By the middle of summer they had all died. Contacted the company as they have a warranty. Of course they wouldn’t ship any replacements until the next spring. They suggested keeping on caring for the roses and watching them. Nope, all dead. Contacted them again, and again the selection was ‘not available’. Picked out one I wanted and said they could pick the others. They sent a list, and was again told that some on the list were ‘not available’?!? Then why give me a choice? Received the bare-root roses this spring. They only sent three for some reason. Maybe the warranty only covers some of them? They were all just sticks but two were faintly green. One plant was just grey wood. A month and a half later the grey one is dead as a rock. Contacted the company again and got the usual ‘sorry for any inconvenience’ spiel, but we don’t replace replacements. Why not? You were the ones that sent out a dead plant. I have photos all the way through and sent them. Yeah, they said, it is definitely dead. But we don’t replace replacements. They aren’t covered by the warranty. So a year and two months later I have two roses that are doing fairly well and paid for four. My question is: do you pay $34 apiece for bare root roses which may or not make it, and probably are a second choice as the ‘world’s premiere site for roses’ probably doesn’t actually have what is pictured on their site, and that you have to wait months to get—or spent half that much for a fully-leafed, actual potted rose from Wal-Mart or a local garden center? The answer seems quite logical. One star for David Austin Roses is more than generous.

"If zero were an option I would select zero"
If zero were an option I would select zero and I will NEVER buy from them again. I was excited to receive two climbing roses, one to go on each side of a new pergola. Received one with multiple black stems. Contacted the company thinking this would be a no brainer replacement situation. They confirmed having new dawn in stock. I was instructed to send photos which I did. They have provided several bogus excuses including that I should wait 8 weeks to see if the rose bounces back. Clearly it’s not going to bounce back. When I contacted shortly after to say it’s still not making progress they told me they no longer have anything in stock to replace. I should wait until next year and they’ll send me another. NEXT YEAR!? That’s the replacement policy. What about the 5 yr guarantee? It’s totally false advertising because they have no product and will not replace. I have contacted them numerous times and they have done absolutely nothing to fix the situation.I would NEVER purchase from them again. Too bad

"poor customer service"
I ordered three potted rose bushes. All came with yellow leaves, blackspot, and leaf curl. I pulled off the yellow leaves and as many of the black spotted leaves as practical and called to complai, asking for a refund or replacement. The response was that the damage was likely caused by moisture in transit. I was told to plant them. I advised that I have been growing roses for many years and they these ones were diseased. I was again told to plant them.

"DON'T ORDER THESE ROSES ONLINE."
Zero is not listed on rate, I Ordered 3 roses from David Austin, shipped wrong address and i went to pick them up at the wrong address on the next day. I called and told them they looked not healthy and customer service said, just went ahead and planted if they died, would be replaced. now they died, called, emailed and NO Respond. Please don't buy these roses.

"Rose was not successful and died which…"
Rose was not successful and died which was unfortunate given the price of it. They offered to send me another one but I'd have to wait until Autumn, or purchase a potted rose for an extra £8. Would not recommend getting your rose from here unfortunately.

"Rose looked healthy, But"
Rose looked healthy and fine, when i recently purvhased it. However, when i went to repot, found quite a few of the large roots cut or bent upwards? As though the plant was forced into its new pot. Will wash roots, and then reset it. Profit over qaulity?

"E-gift vouchers don't always work"
I ordered an e-gift card for my nephew's birthday based on the promise that he would receive it immediately. It was, in theory, the ideal gift as he loves David Austin roses and has bought many. After several hours from the online order, I still hadn't received any acknowledgement and my nephew hadn't received the voucher. Checked all email addresses and all correct. Checked my bank account and the payment had gone through. Phoned Customer Service to be told that not all "gmail" addresses work! They tried to send it again, without success, whilst I was on the phone. Asked for a refund and told this could take up to ten days! It actually didn't but the point is that if David Austin know their systems have problems with "gmail" addresses, then why offer that service? Wrote a letter explaining the situation to Customer Services on the 18th April 2023 and no response whatsoever. Not impressed. I am in business too and if I adopted that attitude with my customers, I wouldn't last very long!
