"Do yourself a favor and find another vendor"

We ordered 5 rose roots in mid-Dec for delivery in March. It's mid-April. No word from them. No confirmation number or email... only one from Paypal. Their main number is always busy. They claim weather issues. They still can give no date when the order will be shipped. They are customer-insensitive. Not reliable/dependable and not inexpensive. What makes matters worse is that this was a gift.

Great roses speedily sent. Freephone number to call when a problem arose; answered promptly without loads of annoying recorded messages - problem speedily sorted. Highly recommend.

My wife and I ordered a "Generous Gardener" climbing bare root rose and received it in excellent condition. Communicated to us when rose shipped also. We are very pleased!

"Exceptional Roses. Requires Patience with Shipping"

I have 4 DA roses that I have purchased as bareroot plants over the past 3 years. Although the shipping communication leaves something to be desired, the plants have been spectacular. Even though a couple of the bareroot plants were pretty thin and twiggy, they all developed quickly into healthy, repeat blooming plants in the first year. By the second year they all have thick and healthy canes and are flushed with blooms...bigger flowers than year one. Every one of my DA roses have far exceeded my expectations (based on the photos and descriptions on their website) in health, beauty of the flower, scent and abundance of blooms. All but one are in pots and they do fine in coastal southern California. I just received my 5th DA rose today and look forward to seeing and smelling it. My recommendation to DA is to provide better shipping updates. If other customers are like me, they are pretty excited to get their plants once they have placed the order. So a more definitive ship date and more frequent updates would be better than a 3 month window.

"3 years and over 30 roses purchased"

I have ordered roses from David Austin Roses for 3 years and overall I am very happy with the service. The quality of roses is excellent and customer services have been excellent when there was a mix up with labelling. I have over 30 roses from them and intend to continue purchasing.

"Do Not Buy DA Roses From DA Website"

This is my first time to order David Austin roses from its own website. The experience is the worst comparing with purchasing DA roses from other platforms and local nurseries.

First, one of the bare roots I received was damaged and the quality was poor. I plants the roses the same way, while others start sprouting, the one with poor condition stems turn brown. If you ordered multiple kinds, they will put all of them in one big box and some of the stems and roots are easy to get damaged. It is not quality I expected especially I paid for around $20 shipping fee.

Second, their 5 year warranty is like not existing. When you contact the customer service, you will be asked to fill out the return form with the descriptions and three pictures uploading. The customer service responds fast but they just copy and past the instructions how to water and plant the rose without processing the replacement for you.

If you really like DA roses, I recommend you purchase them from the local nurseries with good reviews or other reliable online platforms, because buying directly from David Austin, doesn't guarantee you will get better or healthier roses/bare roots. Don't be fooled with the 5 year warranty thing since they made the replacement/refund process extremely difficult.

"Excellent service throughout"

From the very helpful staff to the delivery, I am very impressed with their knowledge, understanding and help. I wanted the a start of a small rose garden for my friend who had just suffered a bereavement. They helped in choosing the roses making sure we had a selection of colours and that they would blend together. Delivery was excellent only 2 days. Thank you very much.

"Computer says no!"

I needed to amend an order and the customer service I received was extremely poor. Classic doctor receptionist training style, passive aggressive and very happy not to help. Claimed goods had left when they obviously hadn’t. Will not ever use again.

"Growing and Blooming Beautifully!"

I bought a Queen of Sweden rose in the spring as a bare root with a little bit of stem above ground. Now, it's the end of September and my bush has tripled in size, has several blooms on it, and has been a pleasure to take care of, very easy! I could not be happier. The site has lots of helpful information on it to care for your roses.
Edit to Add: Just before our first frost, I reached out to D.A.R. to ask for some advice on how to protect my beloved new roses, and they could not have been nicer and more informative. I am truly impressed all around!
