"One star is too generous"

One star is too generous. Crawford have been working on my property claim for 3 and a half years and it is no closer to being finalised. Do not answer the phone, do not reply to emails - except when labelled 'Complaint'. Awful awful experience from the claims handling team.

"Appalling company to deal with!"

Appalling company to deal with!! No customer service whatsoever!! How companies like this can be allowed to continue trading is beyond me!! Avoid at all costs!!

"Incompetent"

Awful, truly awful. There are no words for the levels of incompetence and mismanagement at this company. The only thing which is worse is their inability to communicate. Even their automated call back system doesn't work.

"Company does not answer phone nor answer emails"

Have been trying to get hold of Crawfords regarding an on going claim, but despite having rung on 6 occasions during the last week, have had no response at all. There is an automated response saying that if I leave my number I will not lose my place in the queue and somebody will phone back, but this does not happen. There is not even a response on the customer services number given. There is also no response from emails- merely an automated reply suggesting to call them.
So it appears there is no way of contacting them. This is appalling service. I am looking in to reporting them to various trade bodies.

"Very Poor company"

Just check the reviews for crawco- they speak for themselves. Unintelligent investigators over there saying that me not knowing EXACTLY where in the city centre my item was lost is suspicious (most likely fell out my pocket) and stating that:

“ If something was to fall out of a front pocket whilst you were sat down for example, this would fall in front of you and near to your feet and would likely be noticed, similarly if you were walking and the wallet fell out, again this would fall in front of you or near your feet and would, on the balance of probabilities, be more likely to be noticed “

Laughable man…So that statement about probabilities and what may have happened is proof that it didn’t happen absolute joke of a company.

Also they confirmed that if you gradually saved money in a bank, get safe will not cover this if it is lost because you have no “proof” that it was actually saved. Bank withdrawals weren’t enough because they don’t have proof of what the money was done after that point, so essentially the money cover is useless.

And may I add my low income was also used to question the legitimacy of my claim as she didn’t seem to understand how I was able to save half my money each month, made to feel like a liar and that what I had done was wrong. I dealt with someone called Lisa and she was very clearly incompetent at her job.

"IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO ANYONE AND 2 YEARS ON CLAIM ISN'T SORTED!"

have now been dealing with a simple subsidence claim for over 2 years! They NEVER get back to me, make mistakes, and refuse to put me through to the person dealing with my claim. The people I speak too are pleasant but don't take note of key pieces of information which causes delays. It takes 40 minutes to get through only to be told the person you need is on a call and will call me back but they never do! Today I asked to speak to the team leader Kim Veal and was told no, you must have a call back. Great - more waiting for a call that doesn't come!
I am in danger of losing my builders because they want to complete the external work before the weather changes. If I lose these builders I will have to start the whole miserable process of getting the new builders' costs agreed again.
Crawfords are used by MORETHAN insurers so unfortunately I don't have any say about using them. However if this is not resolved soon I will complain to the ombudsman about the length of time this has taken.

"Three years in and we are still reeling"

We have had extensive dealings with Crawford's over the past three years. Our experience of Crawford's is that their policy is to jump to conclusions on no evidence and to base decisions on the cheapest, easiest option for themselves. They do not listen to clients or communicate clearly, they lose files and send client's protected data to unauthorised persons, promise to carry out work and then fail to deliver but nevertheless insist they have actually done the work, and attempt to harass homeowners into acting to our detriment. The staff they employ do not demonstrate a professional level of ability in processing information or handling files but simply feel the job is done by copying and pasting and blindly following inhouse protocols. Their actions and omissions in our case led to a referral to the Ombudsman. In summary, it would be hard to think of ways in which a firm of contractors could more grievously or comprehensively besmirch their own reputation short of actually demolishing part of our house. Despite Crawford's repeated attempts to try and manoever us into agreeing to allow them onto our property to quote for structural work, we have not given them that opportunity, nor would any homeowner in their right mind ever do so who knew the facts. I was perturbed to hear from a friend that their insurance company is attempting to force them into accepting Crawford's as a contractor so I thought I should post our experiences here in case others believe that they are alone in experiencing astonishingly bad levels of service with this company. I agree there should be an option to post with no stars. The actions and omissions of this firm have caused us huge stress over a period of three years and they are quite unrepentent. I have given them a star only because otherwise the review could not be posted.

"I am currently dealing with Crawfords…"

I am currently dealing with Crawfords for my elderly father for a subsidence claim. 6 years in, yes, 6 years and they are still monitoring. You can’t get past the front line staff, who can’t make any decisions. It seems to be impossible to speak to senior staff. They either don’t respond or respond in a very delayed time. They are very reluctant to share information with you. If you have an option to use another company, I recommend that you do. This is an insurance claim, so we can’t change.

"0 stars -unscrupulous and unreliable"

UPDATE: On 20th October, I duly contacted Kim at Crawfords on the email she supplied in the visible response to the original review. I have heard NOTHING in response so clearly Crawfords would like their reviews to appear as though they're being answered but nothing could be further from the truth.

My rating would actually be 0 stars. As other reviewers, I am a few years into my claim - they avoid answering the phone, they do not provide specific email addresses - just one central one. Emails are rarely responded to or the contents are ignored. They try to force the householder into accepting lower repair amounts or reduced scope of works. They don't provide all the reports they should or undertake investigations where they think it's going to cost extra money - legitimately sought by the householder based on the damage. Where investigations have taken place, they fob you off and try to diminish their (the insurer's they represent) responsibility. They make promises regarding visits, follow-ups and resolutions that are not kept.
My advice would be to get a loss assessor involved if you're not sure of the technical/building side of your claim - loss assessors are on your side and not the loss adjuster's side. The turnover of staff is high hence things not been followed up - I have had 4 account managers. If you look at the staff rating for working for this company, it is very low. Their complaint system is equally pitiful even when escalating to the the underwriters of the policy so again, I would recommend following the complaints procedure then following this up with contacting the Financial Ombudsman.
All in all, considering the size of the company and therefore the assumed level of professionalism you would expect, they are as unscrupulous and unreliable as companies can possibly be. When purchasing my next house insurance, I will be asking not only who the underwriters of the policy are but who they use as loss adjusters and run a mile if it's Crawford and Company!
(Also - rather than provide a customer services email for me to contact you - again - please respond to the many emails I have sent detailing the action that is needed from your side)

"There should be an option to give Zero star."

I have received extremely poor service from them. They have been kept changing their statements for whole week.
Today, I told them that I have gone through these negative reviews on Trustpilot about your company. The gentleman replied "We do not care about all these negative reviews". Surely they don't. Any sensible company or its loyal staff should care about their reputation.
