"Can't be trusted"
Just like so many others: initially purchased (for a hefty price) a lifetime service. They cancelled it and offered to replace with a $20/year contract. And now, 6 even before the prepaid year is over, they request immediate increase to $35. You don't want to trust these people with your data.

I had some large files in cold storage from several years ago, which I couldn't restore via a browser (daily size limit applies). However, Zoolz guieded me through using the local restore app and that worked really well, thanks guys!

As many reviewers have already mentioned, this company offered lifetime cloud backups long ago but eventually revoked those lifetime accounts. You should think twice before buying anything from this company or buying anything from companies that were created from the same founder(s) of Zoolz. There was no refund, no replacement option, & not even an apology email for the failures?

HORRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT BUY, THE SENT THE WRONG ITEM AND THEN THEY WANT YOU TO PAY FOR THE SHIPPING TO RETURN THE WRONG ITEM, IF YOU COMPLAIN THEY WANT TO REFUND YOU A MINIMAL AMOUNT RIDICULOUS STILL YOU END UP LOOSING MONEY FOR THEIR MISTAKES, DONT BUY OTHERWISE YOU WILL REGRET IT

Avoid this cloud company at all costs! Their cancellation of my lifetime subscription without any compensation was outrageous. Their arrogance and terrible service are a waste of both money and time. Beware and steer clear!

"Deceptive Practices with Zoolz "
I purchased what was supposed to be a one time payment LIFETIME 1tb backup storage plan, and then a few years later they demanded that I either upgrade my plan to join a monthly subscription or lose all my files due to them choosing to get rid of the original lifetime plan that many people (including myself) had signed up to. I am keeping my review somewhat brief to avoid saying too much and having my review deleted again with a long seemingly angry text response from the company being posted under it due to some inaccurate information being included in my review. The only reason for some inaccurate content to exist in my original review was because during the time I was receiving all the emails about the changes coming, in addition to some promotional emails mixed in the bunch, I saw more than one company name in the emails (or, I should also say I received emails from some other seemingly partnered or related company) during the same period and assumed it meant that a company name change was probably taking place. Apparently, there was no name change and both companies are not the same thing. Nevertheless, the emails were confusing and I can remember when they first requested that I consider joining a new monthly subscription plan while breaking the news that the original one time payment lifetime plan that I had paid for was going away, but the people who already had it would not be affected (in other words, we were "grandfathered in"). Next, I eventually started receiving emails stating that it would be ok if I chose to keep the original lifetime plan I paid for, but there will no longer be customer support for the lifetime plans. I still chose not to change the original lifetime plan I had. Finally, I started receiving emails informing me that the one time payment lifetime plan I paid for was being eliminated entirely and the only two options were to either upgrade to a new monthly subscription plan or try to download and save everything I had uploaded within a certain time limit before it was all deleted. According to the definition of "lifetime," I must say that their original promotion for a one time payment to receive a lifetime subscription of 1tb storage was a BIG lie or deceptive act, as I was lead to believe I was paying for and using an online storage service that would be available for me to use for a lifetime (or at least the lifetime of the company), only to be told a few years afterwards that they pretty much changed their mind and decided to do away with that lifetime plan (after many people had already uploaded a lot of important, personal and sentimental files and memories with the assumption that the lifetime plan they paid for would at least remain for the entire life span of the company). This situation should not be silently forgotten and swept under the rug as time goes on and reviews about this genuine experience are no longer allowed to be posted due to the timing of incident rapidly becoming a time that was too distant in the past to talk about. Luckily I was smart enough to also save all those lost files somewhere else and not put my complete trust into this company. I also have the emails and original payment agreement made saved as well. To make sure I keep all things as accurate as possible, I want to apologize for my review turning out to not be as "brief" as I thought it would be when I started typing it.
