"They're going to mislead you..."
My father is in a nursing home and can't use a phone plugged into a wall. So my mother got a Jitterbug flip phone through GreatCall for him. The rep on the phone let her set it up in his name. And things went fine. Until... in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, my mother realized that she needs more minutes so she can keep talking to my father when she isn't allowed to visit him. The rep on the phone said because her name isn't on the account, she can't change the plan. It's utterly ridiculous that someone be allowed to set up a plan in someone else's name but not change the plan. So now she's supposed to send a signed & notarized POA before she can do anything. But she could shut off the phone without the POA.
This company makes no sense and the minute I can see my father again, we're changing companies.
GreatCall is not someone I'd do business with if I didn't have to.

"Poor service & crappy phones"
My 91 year old Mom has had a JitterBug flip phone for almost 15 years now. At first it was great & she loved it, but over the years the company & the phones have both deteriorated. She seems to go through a phone a year now & she hardly even uses it! Today, I had to order a new one for her in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis & the rep was very nasty to me - he wanted to charge me 40 bucks over retail for it & when I said I could get it cheaper elsewhere, he snapped at me "You do that then" . I got one over-nighted to her from a big-box store. I don't think they are about seniors, or help them at all.

"Just in Time"
I purchased my Lively Mobile, just before the crisis of the COVID19. I am so glad that I did. I live alone and I feel more secure having the device during this period of uncertainty. I like having the fall component because I do have stairs in my home and I have fallen in the past. Another thing that is reassuring is that my children will be alerted if I fall and they can also track where I am.
I wear it daily and when I am taking a shower, in case I fall. I appreciate that it can be wet without a problem. I charge it overnight as recommended.
One evening, I inadvertently activated the call button by placing the device down on the table. Someone answered immediately and I explained that it was an accident. Response time was immediate and even though it was my mistake, it let me know just how quickly someone would respond.
One of the things that I appreciated was the simplicity of the directions in setting up the device.
My only disappointment is that when the device is worn around the neck on a lanyard, it detracts somewhat from personal jewelry.

"Great Call is the only device that uses…"
Great Call is the only device that uses Verizon for the GPS. Since I don't have a landline, it meets my needs perfectly . I think Great Call is great! It's easy to set up and use, allows family members to track me if I want, and allows me the freedom to enjoy my life without fear of falling or being unable to get help. My only suggestion for improvement, is to include two lanyards in the original order. While the device is waterproof, the lanyard is not. That way you always have a dry lanyard to wear.

"Great no-internet phone for all ages!"
Great phone for children to young to have unsupervised internet access. Also great for adults who for legal reasons cannot access the internet. Texting, phone calls and a camera. The large buttons and display are helpful for the visually impaired of any age.

"My 89 year old mother feels like a teenager again."
My 89 year old mother's flip phone was beginning to fail due to the shift of the major cell providers away from 3G technology to 5G. Her eyesight and hearing are failing and the phones that the major providers offer are not user friendly to the octogenarians in our society. When I investigated the Jitterbug Flip Phone and the online reviews, I was hesitant to believe them; however, I was wrong. The reviews and the actual phones are everything they're advertised to be. My mother has been so excited to have a new phone whose numbers, controls and options are easy to use and understand. She's like a teenager who just received a new phone. She is "playing" with it and learning how to text, retrieve voicemail and take pictures. Pretty good for an 89 year old woman who was relying on an old flip phone from 2013. Well done Great Call!

"My 78 year old mom purchased a phone…"
My 78 year old mom purchased a phone from great call, they took complete advantage of her, she was told that the phone would work in her area which it did not, she was completely mislead in every form and/or fashion. She was told that if she returned the phone they would reimburse her the cost, did not happen, she paid 179.00 to purchase the phone and was reimbursed 143.00 and she returned it to great call after 3 days. Do not believe the line of crap that they feed you.

"I purchased this phone because it…had everything I needed"
I purchased this phone because it advertised larger buttons and was easy to use. I also choose it because Great Call could port my land line phone number. This phone has all the basics; text, camera, internet, maps. It was reasonably priced and so far so good! I wish it had caller I.D. and the ringer tones don't seem to work, but it delivered on everything I needed.

"Jitterbug flip phone is perfect for my 93 old mom!"
Jitterbug flip phone is perfect for my 93 year old mom. Her old flip phone was falling apart. This phone has bigger numbers, is louder than her other phone and the numbers are bigger.
After learning how to use it, she is able to view texts and pictures that I send. She can use the phone book to call others and listen to her voicemail.
I am thrilled and so is she

"My Mom died - They Falsely charged me and would'n refund."
Got a Jitterbug but my 98 yr old Mom-in-law and it worked great. She died Feb 2019. I just found out that GreatCall has been billing my credit card every month even though I recall canceling!!! The said "Sorry, we didn't get a cancellation." I said "but, i'll send you the dead certification now." They said, "Sorry". REALLY? they want 10 months poultry profits when i can prove she was dead - and they can prove no calls were made. Finally gave me 2-months off and said "supervisor will call in 24 hours". we'll see.
Insensitive bull! Awful company.
PS: they have a feature to sign-up on there web-sight BUT you CANNOT CANCEL on their website. SLIME BAGS!! they are intentionally make it harder, and of course the most likely reason to stop service for a really old person - when you might not be at your best.
That's sick!
