Unfortunately they neglected to answer the 2 very simple questions that I asked of them

7 emails and 3 contact us on the website and still no reply
Hi there
Regarding Sixt Rental Agreement number 9483015927.
After having my credit card overcharged by 318.16EUR without communication (this has been refunded now) I have sent 3 emails, without reply, asking for the name of the rental agent who served me at Dublin airport on the 19th February and how to contact the complaints department.
I was lied to and mis-sold at the rental desk and I'm extremely dissatisfied with the rental experience.
I'd appreciate the details requested above please
Many thanks

"Like rain? Here's a shower"
Incorrectly guided to a non-existent shuttle bus to collect our hire car by Sixt, we eventually found our vehicle. After our return. E350 was taken from my card- the vehicle was acknowledged by their staff working on return reception to have been in the condition it was taken in, and was full of fuel too. Another case of unwarranted deductions from a car hire company. The facts speak for themselves. Hopefully the credit card company can sort it out.

"DO NOT USE. Avoid at all costs"
Avoid at all costs. Do not use. Dublin airport. Will happily rob you off however much they want.
DO NOT USE.
Companies should not get free reign to charge your credit card whatever they feel like for no reason whatsoever. No damage done to car.

"Scam - Estafadores, avoid!"
Horror story, arrived tired and late from flight, last thing you need is get additional sh**t to get the car you've reserved. If I wanted to get the car I had to pay "basic insurance package" (CDW + theft) that *surprise!* doubles the reservation price. Supposedly this is "compulsory" (even though the clauses in the contract state it clearly as optional) and was not included in the reservation: how can the web allow to make a car reservation without an insurance that is compulsory?? It'd be like reserving a car without wheels, and then charge you extra for them.
They set the perfect trap, if you cancel you lose all the reservation money, plus being late and tired is the worst time to look for alternatives. Lets say this bad start spoiled my trip to Ireland, plus I spent all my travel days sh**tting myself what other scam they would come up with in the final invoice, since they keep a deposit of 2000€ + 100€.
One of the reasons why I chose Sixt was because I could collect and drop the car directly at airport terminal as stated in the reservation: no shuttle bus. However, I was instructed when I picked up the car that if return time was before 17:00 pm I would need to drop it at Sixt compound outside airport and get the shuttle bus: another breach of contract.
On a positive note, the car was fine and quite new, nothing to complaint about it.
Never again Sixt, cowboy run operation.

"Hidden Costs"
Rented a car out for just 3 days in November 2021 which ended up being much more expensive than expected. Firstly you have to put a €1,500 deposit on your credit card which was not mentioned at all when booking. As we didn't have a credit card, they told us that the only solution was to pay for full cover (another €90) which we had no need for given that we weren't planning to drive very much. Also had to pay €100 out of the blue which apparently we would receive in full on the return of the car. However only received €45 of this back as we did not fill the car back up with fuel (maybe this is common and I should have known but they could have at least told us). As we didn't follow this they added another arbitrary €15 charge on. I won't be using this company again when I return and would recommend for others to avoid.

"Ripped us off for an extra day rental"
We booked a 19 day rental in Ireland for Sept 2021. Not being sure about how long it would take to clear customs and immigration, we booked for a 10:00 AM pickup and a 10:00 AM return on the last day. We actually picked up the car an hour earlier and returned the car 2.5 hours earlier. In other words, less than 19 24 hour periods. Sixt charge us for an extra day rental because we picked it up a hour earlier than booked, while not giving us credit for returning it earlier. Their customer service has been totally non responsive, though we did file a complaint through Expedia / AARP.
There were several issues with our rental car: key fob battery was low, tire air pressure light was on the whole time, return area was closed when we arrived at 7 AM with no signage (directing to return at terminal parking garage).
On the good side, they did let us waive CDW with a MasterCard and rental rate was competitive.

"Excellent Staff - Very friendly!"
This review is specifically for the Sixt branch in Rochestown Avenue Dublin. The staff there have always been great to me. I've been assisted by Elaine on a few occasions and she is brilliant! So friendly and a great person to talk to - always so helpful and it's a joy every time that I meet her!
Last time, I was served by Stephen - again, he was also superb! Really great guy! Wonderful customer service! This branch is the only one that I use and they are terrific! I look forward to using them again!

"Avoid at all costs.......or it'll Cost YOU!"
Absolute dishonest Cheats.
Have been done twice in recent times, since August by them for so called "damages" that we did not cause. Apparently the damages were scrapes down to primer (which were barely visible on the pictures provided) that we 100% did not cause. On one occasion, when inspecting the car with a rep before taking it out, he reassured me "those are superficial, don't worry about them". More the fool me.
Having given them the benefit of the doubt I went a second time. I should not have had such faith.
Will absolutely never use them again and recommend avoiding them if you can. They take advantage of you and the fact they don't review the car with you at drop off, too busy we were told and we were getting a flight. No need they said, then they hit you with barely visible scratches and charge you EUR500. Never again. Sickened.

"SIXT ARE SCAMMERS"
as per other reviews, Sixt were scamming us and trying to squeeze us for every cent the moment we walked into their office in Pisa. Firstly the usual insurance add ons, then trying to charge us extra for the car we booked as it was automatic (no manuals in stock) etc etc. we returned the car 9 days later , as it was received, and were told all was good. 5 days later we got an email claiming we had damaged the car and requested 400+eur. i requested photos. these took 2 months to come through. Even after ther 5 days it took to sent intitial email car could have been damaged by staff when being parked! we refused the claim, then next thing got notification of a traffic violation (just a letter on sixt paper, no description of the violation or where it happened), i requested a copy of the violation, this never came and money was taken. SIXT ARE SCAMMERS AVOID AT EVERY COST.
