"Great way to have pictures preserved"
Was looking for a way to have old pictures copied as well as restored. Scan cafe did a great job with the pictures as well as the old film that I sent them. I did not have the time or the skill to want to attempt this on my home computer. A little pricey Compared to doing it yourself perhaps, but my time was worth much more than that period they did a great job!

"Quality Feedback on Scan Cafe Services"
Overall the quality of the scans of my over 4,000 negatives were excellent.
I was most pleased that you opened up a drop-off office in Chicago. I have had two other orders sent to Scan Cafe sent via UPS. The first went without a problem - my test run of 500 slides. My second was a disaster. I had sent over 5,000 35mm slides ( all numbered, logged, sequenced, properly oriented and packaged by years (1970 - 1998). UPS lost them!! they claim the package broke open - no way it was double sealed and wrapped in shipping tape. Long story short 2yrs work and irreplaceable pictures were lost forever. Scan Cafe tried to look into it but was unable to make any headway with UPS.
That is why I was so pleased that you opened a pick-up location in Chicago.
Fortunately I had back-up Negatives of most my 1980-1998 pictures - which I again trusted to Scan Cafe to scan - using your drop off location in Chicago. You did an excellent job. Because the files are so large (4-5MB) I was also pleased that you keep the online review "proofs". This allows me to more quickly review & select pictures by referring back to the online scans.
Only quality issues I had were:
1) a number of scans and various rolls were scanned backwards. I can correct them through an editor, but that takes time.
2) several rolls of negatives were "out of sequence". Don't understand why as the negatives were all uncut and in canisters marked by year and sequence #.
Overall good job. I was pleased with the outcome and will recommend your services to family & friends.
One last note. All online contacts with your service rep's were very helpful.

An excellent service! I was able to digitize and organize over 2,000 photos that had been collecting dust on the floor of my closet for decades. Such a relief to get that done. ScanCafe answered all my questions and kept me informed about the schedule.
