"Costa Rica - a wildlife paradise"

Our three week trip to Costa Rica was organised by Ad de Beer at Eclipse.
We flew into San Jose, then had private transfers to some of the highlights of Costa Rica. Our three days at Manatus lodge at Tortoguero were delightful, and we saw our first sloths and howler monkeys. A great start to what was to be a memorable trip. The birds also were amazing.as they were all around the country. We then travelled to Puerto Viejo to Shawandha Lodge which was great - the animals and birds were right on the doorstep, and the Caribbean was
just a short stroll away. Don't miss the sloth sanctuary nearby
Arenal Volcano was next, followed by Monteverde, then the Pacific coast, and a resort called the Parador, which is in a lovely location and has a resident sloth, and cheeky capuchin monkeys in the gardens. Our last stop was high up on the mountains at Trogon Lodge, reached by an interesting drive down a valley created by the Sagrere River. More birdwatching, and finally spotting a beautiful quetzal. Our holiday was expertly organised by a company that seems very experienced, and Ad was very patient with my constant emails and changes in the planning stages. He also organised perfect weather!!

"Great holiday experience with Eclipse"

From the moment we landed in Rio until our final transfer in Santiago, our South American adventure was made perfect through the planning, organising and implementation of Eclipse Travel.
I have no qualms giving them a 5 star rating and if there were more stars I would have gone for them as well.
How reassuring it is arriving in a country where I have no language skills (and where there are few, if any, English speakers or signs) to see a smiling face holding an Eclipse board with our names on it.
I was able to curate a holiday that suited our needs and Mirko from eclipse was very, very patient in making many adjustments to the brochure tour so that my desires were met. As a person who keeps an eye on money (I have a Commerce degree!) I'm genuinely surprised that Eclipse were able to put together our package for the price they did. In discussions with fellow travellers it became apparent that our deal was superior to theirs and when we did bump into some Aussies in Amazonia who were also travelling through Eclipse, they too were full of praise for the company's efforts.
If you're looking for a South American holiday to enjoy without the hassles that can arise from a continent that can throw up some problems I'd recommend using Eclipse for sure.
We travelled to Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Chile and had a mix of tours; many times a guide just for the two of us and other times as part of a small group. We visited Rio, Iguazo Falls, Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Puno, Quito, Napo Wildlife Centre and the Galapagos Islands and Santiago and I can honestly say that all the flights, transfers and accommodations that involved occurred seamlessly.

"South America"

Six of us from Victoria recently completed a Land Tour and a cruise around South America. Our itinerary was prepared by Shae at Eclipse Travel in Sydney. Shae booked our flights, cruise, and hotels and arranged for tour guides to accompany us at each destination. Further, we were advised in detail on Visa and medical requirements, weather conditions, what to pack, currency conversions. We started the Land tour in Santiago, Chile and continued in Rio de Janiero, Buenos Aires, Iguassu Falls, Cusco, Macchu Picchu, and Lima and finished in Valparaiso, Chile where we embarked on our cruise.

Every detail, small or big, was meticulously looked into and I would categorically state that our expectations were exceeded beyond measure. I have no reservations in recommending Eclipse Travel to all my friends and anyone who is looking for a great South American experience. Once again, many thanks to Shae who was very professional and for all her efforts in making our tour a memorable one.

"Excellent Time in South America"

My husband and I recently returned from a 58 day holiday in South America - 23 days was a Land Tour with Eclipse. Eclipse service was excellent, professional, with an emphasis on making our experience as enjoyable and unforgettable as possible.
Tiffany has the ability to listen, hear and act on individual desires and requests - she knows her area very well and as a result we were given the right amount of time to see sites and areas of interest without being rushed or tired. From an awe inspiring cruise of the Amazon, the spiritual ambience and wonder of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley and Cuzco Inca ruins, to a spontaneous cultural baptism of two little children in the sea by tribal elders in traditional dress (as well as the magnificent Maoi of Easter Island of course) Brazilian panoramas from Mt. Sugarloaf, the transcendent Igguasi Falls, wildlife and environmental wonders galore to the artistic paradise and home of the tempestuous Tango of Buenos Aries our expectations were exceeded beyond measure, All of our guides went the extra mile for us, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
I would recommend Tiffany's advice and assistance if you are planning a South American holiday - you will not be disappointed. Thank you Tiffany for all of your hard work and your professionalism - Our special wedding anniversary and birthdays were made the more memorable because of your expertise.

We were guided by Shae at Eclipse Travel in planning and booking our trip to South America and Antarctica. Patience is her middle name, as we were constantly fiddling with the itinerary, and then coming around to her initial suggestions! She is very familiar with the areas we visited, right down to the best places to stay. As a result the trip ran perfectly, and there was always the backup of someone on the ground to help us if it didn't. Big thanks to Shae at Eclipse.

"Great time in South America booked with Eclipse"

My husband and I have just returned from our 39 day South America trip, 15 days cruising and 24 days land touring. The land touring part was booked with Ad De Beer from Eclipse Travel as private travelers, he also booked us a shore excursion to Falkland Islands. We have traveled a lot in Europe and Asia but this was our first time in South America. On the land tour, we went to Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Iguassu Falls, Lima, Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Guayaquil, Galapagos Islands and Santiago. Ad arranged all travel, accommodation, transfers and tours for us. We had 9 flights inside South America, 9 hotels (12 check ins / outs) and 13 day tours. Everywhere was wonderful except Santiago, the details later. Every pickup and drop off was on time, because of the private tour, we were able to see more. Hotels were all good quality in good locations. In Rio, we stayed right on Copacabana beach; in Galapagos, the hotel room was huge. The room had large windows and a balcony over looking the sea and a double spa bath. The tours everywhere were interesting and eye opening. Included meals were delicious……

Santiago was a disappointment. The city was boring, the agent (Protours) was incompetent (at best) and the hotel (Su Merced Hotel) was too small, too uncomfortable and too expensive. It charged for example, US$5 for a 500ml bottle of water. A hotel staff member agreed with me when I said it too expensive.

We had a wonderful time in South America except Santiago. We highly recommend Ad from Eclipse and we highly recommend South America, except for Santiago.

"Mostly MIA"

I was looking online for an Antarctic cruise. I found one that met our somewhat narrow timing requirements. Online I researched the ship, picked our cabins, and signed up. The cruise operator's website was linked to Eclipse. We were assigned to J, who was South American. I gt this was a good thing, as he could help us with booking other activities in Patagonia, Buenos Aires, and Rio de Janiero. After pressuring us to get money wired to Eclipse immediately ("there are only a few cabins left - you must hurry" - the cruise was actually 20% unbooked) we could rarely contact him. Emails would go unanswered for days. He was rarely in the office when we'd call. Forget about anything over a weekend. M in Australia often had to cover, and I will say he was pretty responsive. Bizarrely, J kept changing our pre-departure hotel in Ushuaia, forcing me in the end to book rooms on my own. Eclipse provided very little in the way of service, apart from forwarding information from cruise operator Quark Expeditions - with which we were very pleased. We had a great cruise, but I would advise folks to deal directly with Quark - or anyone but Eclipse. Perhaps Eclipse makes sense for Australians, but no one else.

We contacted Matt from Eclipse Travel when we were in Mexico asking him to organize a trip to Cuba for us in 3 days time and he did!
