After unpleasant outcomes from arranging my first Argentina holiday in January 2015 with a travel agent who were not South American specialists, it was great dealing with Eclipse and Stephen who is.

I gave Stephen a short notice brief in mid December to come up with the 2 things I wanted to do on a trip in early January 2016 - and they put it together and the holiday was way above expectations.

During a part of my trip there were high winds preventing our ferry dock in time for my connecting leg - Eclipse was on the telephone arranging smooth transition so everything did not skip a beat, plus have continued to be in touch guiding through Travel Insurance matters

My uncertainty about using Travel Agents for booking holidays has been fully restored

"Africa 2015"

Our seven week trip to Africa commencing early August 2015 was outstanding, visiting South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. The extensive knowledge of the region and attention to detail provided by Eclipse Travel ensured that the relatively complex itinerary went without a hitch. It was our second adventure with them. In 2014 we visited South America and experienced the same level of attention. Can highly recommend Eclipse … high level of expertise and nothing is too much trouble! 10 out of 10! Well planned itinerary visiting The Galápagos, Peru (Cusco and Macchu Piccu trek), and Patagonia.....lots of internal travelling but well worth the hassle to see the wonders of South America.

My wife and 2 adult daughters traveled to South America for 7 weeks in December 2015 and January 2016. We traveled through Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Bolivia. We decided what we wanted to see and do, and Eclipse Travel arranged everything - flights, accommodation, transfers and local tour guides. Throughout the planning stage, Eclipse were very responsive to our needs and requests. Nothing was too much trouble. During the trip, everything went like clockwork and all the local tour operators were professional, friendly and very informative. I would highly recommend Eclipse if you are considering a South American holiday.

Sorry for the long review but please read all the way through...
We have just returned from a trip to South America which was to incorporate Santiago/Peru/Quito and Ecuador/Galapagos/Atacama. Our consultant Shae worked for probably a month or so to get our itinerary into shape - hitting all of our "must-do's" with budgets, timing and family constraints. We have two girls 11 and 13.
We spent the day following our flight in Santiago with a great guide being shown the sights before flying up to Peru.
Peru was everything we hoped - amazing people, culture, cuisine, hotels. Cusco is just amazing and our guide was amazing - great English, really engaging with the kids, interesting and just a great guy. Nothing was too much of a problem.
We stayed in three amazing locations - great hotels - really different - lovely staff/locations/(all with Wifi). We saw the amazing Inca sites in Cusco, salt mines in the Sacred Valley, had cooking classes (ridiculous class with our own personal chef, maitre D, waiters - brilliant!!) and topped off by Machu Picchu. Amazing place - just mental. I would say if you are going to climb Wayna Picchu - take some brave pills. Very very steep....
We just loved Peru. Probably my favourite country I have ever been to....and then the wheels fell off....
My eldest daughter got very sick and we ended up calling a doctor to the hotel (Marriott) in Cusco and within 24 hours she had been operated on and bits of her insides had been removed. We never quite made it to Ecuador etc..... :(
However if eve there was a reason to use a specialist like Eclipse it was this - just truly amazing experience. Eclipse's local partner SETours were terrific - organising a great clinic, terrific surgeon, the Cusco hotel repeatedly extended, had documents translated, nurses interpreted, ambulance transfers organised, teddy bears delivered, flowers and even visits from Celio(our guide)'s entire family. (he has the cutest two young boys!)
This was all coordinated from Sydney by Shae and Matt and the Eclipse Team. No problem was too small. My youngest and I shipped home early after my eldest daughter's release and then the Eclipse team organised three separate legs for my wife and eldest, wheelchairs, escorts through airports and even a visit at a Santiago airport hotel from a nurse to remove stitches.
Now I am pleased to say we are all safe and sound back home.
I cannot imagine having to have done that on our own - it would have been a complete nightmare. it is hard enough to worry about your sick child without all of the other burden which was completely removed for us.
Was it the holiday we had envisaged? Up to the hospital stay - 100x better! What was planned was beyond genuinely our wildest expectations.
Getting us all home....well that was somewhat traumatic to say the least but the Eclipse Team were BRILLIANT.
We are now embarking on the joys of Travel Insurance :( but yet again the Eclipse Team have offered their help and expertise in helping us navigate the red tape that that will entail. With school/work restarting that is also a big help too.
In conclusion, if you are going to South America I would 100% and without reservation say - "Use Eclipse Travel". They are the BEST!
We are also going to go back and finish off the rest of our trip when we are all healthy!
