"Fluent salesman lied to us about services they would provide."
Fluent salesman lied to us about services we would get and he didn't put them in the contract. They told us what we wanted to hear just to get a sale. We are not happy with the equipment. The doorbell camera is with a 3rd party company and not compatible with their alarm panel. He told us we would get a Firefighter detector that would monitor all my existing detectors. It was never installed and when I called Fluent about it they said we don't install that detector anymore. So our home detectors were not monitored by Fluent since we had the system installed. We had a previous alarm company and he told us we would get the same services but at a lower price. That didn't happen. The price was lower but the services were poor and we were not satisfied. We filed a complaint with the BBB but Fluent would not void the contract. They said we were under contract and they fulfilled their part. BEWARE doing any business with Fluent.

"A fluent rep was at my door today with…"
A fluent rep was at my door today with his sales pitch. I politely said “no” several times. He was not wearing a mask and twice he stepped forward within 2 feet of me to show me his diagram sheet. Very dangerous during a pandemic when variants are present in our community.

"Predatory Practice and Lies"
This company is predatory in that it has Reps door knock to install equipment, and promise when the contract is up, you go automatically month to month. I have been paying for 36 months and have never used the system. I called several time over the last 2020 year and was told December 31, 2020, I would be Month to Month and could then cancel. I called again around April 21, 2021 and asked to cancel my contract and was told December 31, 2020 it had auto-renewed for another 36 months and I could not cancel. I then found out the contract was up May 5, 2021 (note I called before this date), and I had reached out well before the expiration date, and was misslead that it had auto-renewed December 31, 2020. This company should have class action law suite against it. Based on the information I have read, all consumers experience the same issue.....lies about their contract expiration, thus holding consumers to auto-renewals and preventing consumers from canceling the service when the contract are fulfilled.

"Pushy/disrespectful Fluent sales rep"
A very pushy/disrespectful Fluent sales rep just was at my door. I told him twice I was not interested in their service due to my financial situation. Then on the way out he sees my dog and proceeds to ask ehat his name is? how long I've had him? Do you love your dog? Then with a nod and a smirk asks what my dog will do in a fire? Trying to make a sale on someone's emotions after being told twice that I I nit interested. Shady sales tactics and just downright disrespectful.

"This is worst company"
This is worst company. People, who can help me to cancel their service. They abused us on phone. I don't know who gave license for this company in WA. Please do not use their service.

"Switched to fluent alarm in sep 2018"
Switched to fluent alarm in sep 2018. Package did not include the Nest thermostat, was not discussed, however the installer pushed it on us stating it was free and “part of the package.” The Nest is not compatible with my furnace and blew the motor after 2 1/2 years . I had to replace it and change the thermostat as well. Tried to get reimbursed and fluent states the Nest was already installed in my home when they installed the alarm system. They don’t offer it , don’t sell it etc. Not sure how their installer was able to add it to the items to be installed, and connected it to Fluents website if it’s not a product they recognize, but they have absolutely refused to acknowledge their own staff installed it. We would never have done it had they not pushed as being part of the package. Do not use these guys, they lie, cheat and not all techs are very helpful when things go wrong. I’ll not be renewing the contract when it comes due!

"DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY"
DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY - they are more than comfortable with scamming homeowners door to door by lying about their initial price and then switching with a cancellation fee that is upwards of thousands of dollars.
This company and what they do is criminal. Don’t give them the money. Don’t let them bully you into payment. The completely lack any ethical practices.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

"If I could give them zero stars I would"
If I could give them zero stars I would. We had a home security system through AlarmTek and renewed our contract with them in 2014. At some point AlarmTek was bought out by Fluent. In the intervening years we had zero communication from them. In December 2020 we decided to cancel monitoring services with them. That's when it got "fun". Both my husband and I tried to get through to them to find out how to cancel our contract. At first we were told that we were on a month to month and we could just cancel. Then we were told that the contract we were in had a 2 year auto renewal and there was no option for us to get out of it earlier. We didn't have a copy of the contract so we asked them to send us one and were told that they couldn't email it to us for privacy reasons but would mail it to us. The contract came in the mail and there was nothing in there about the 2 year auto renewal. I called them again and, surprise, now they could email it to me since they hadn't mailed all the pages and the auto renewal clause was on the page that hadn't been mailed.
We were frustrated by their lack of service and I told them that we were going to put a stop payment on funds pulled from their company until we got this figured out. So what did they do? The next time they pulled funds from our account it came from a different company name.
January 20 we finally got an answer from them that we needed to send them written cancellation. I asked if we needed to send something signed by my husband and I or just email would do. I was told that email was ok so I sent it. The next day I received an email saying that we needed to send a signed written cancellation. Fine - we did that. We received notice from their department that they received the cancellation and they gave themselves 30 days to respond.
At this point I had put a complaint into the Better Business Bureau because we were getting no answers from the company. In mid February I finally got notification through the Better Business Bureau from Fluent telling me that my written cancellation had been received and advising me what my payout amount was. The company also said that once they received the payout amount my account would be closed. So I sent a copy of their letter to me along with a copy of our written cancellation of services and a cheque by registered mail. I checked with them after a week to ensure that they were going to cash the cheque and saw it go through my account the next day.
What happened next was that they sent me an invoice on March 1. I contacted them and they apologized and said that they would reverse the invoice. At this point I had lost all trust in the company and closed the bank account that they were withdrawing funds from. And a good thing that I did. They attempted to withdraw funds for the March billing and then sent another invoice on April 1 and again tried to withdraw funds.
At the time of writing, April 23, we are being told by the company that their "resolutions department" is working on it and will be closing our account the end of the month. We'll see if that happens or if they'll just continue to invoice us for a service we're no longer receiving and have paid out in full.
The incompetence of this company is unbelievable. Do not give them your business unless you want the worst headache when it comes time to cancel them.

"Well I wish there was a 0 star rating…"
Well I wish there was a 0 star rating for this company. Long story short, smoke alarm went off and fluent did not record our address correctly and sent the fire truck to the wrong house. Luckily false alarm and there was no fire. The fireman was able to obtain our address through police with drivers licence. When speaking with the alarm system people, we had asked how to shut it off because it was very loud. The man told us to ask the fireman as he didn’t know how. The fireman took apart the smoke detector as he didn’t know how to shut it off on the panel. We had told fluent that our panel was blinking and would not work. I told them I did not want to be in a contract with them anymore as they couldn’t even send Emergency responders to the correct address and did not know how to disarm their own alarm system. The manager was pretty disrespectful the whole time and would not let me out of contract. He put me on hold for 20+ minutes and I had to go to work so I hung up. 3 and a half months later we got mail saying they have tried multiple times to get ahold of us and were unable too and to give them a call. So spoke with a new manager and told him I wanted out of contract because now I have pretty much gone 2 years without their service as they had the wrong address and the alarm system has not been working since the fireman had disarmed the smoke alarm. He wouldn’t let me out of contract or refund any money. So I have been paying fluent now for almost 2 years for nothing. Oh the manager was nice enough to send a tech out to see if he can fix the system at no charge. Fluent and API is garbage and disrespectful. I STRONGLY SUGGEST STAYING AWAY. This place is by far the worst. Hope this helps you out picking your next alarm system.
