"FLUENT abusive contract policies."

I've been an alarm system customer for almost 8 years, and the last couple FLUENT took over from Alarmtek in Saskatoon. Last year, I decided to request cancellation of the service FLUENT was providing, and also cancelled my home phone land line that I had mostly because of the alarm monitoring requirements.
The request was granted and the service cancelled in November. This month I found a charge from a new alarm company, and they transfer me back to fluent. A person who said to be senior management said that my SECOND contract extension was not over yet and I had to pay them for the rest of the term. I explained that they agreed in cancelling the contract in November, but he said that it would be illegal for them not to charge me in full.
So I've to pay for alarm monitoring when I DON'T HAVE A PHONE LINE! so what are they charging me for? Besides my contract was signed with Alarmtek, not FLUENT.

"Beware of shady billing practices with…"

Beware of shady billing practices with this company. I paid my account in full over a year ago and am now getting another bill. No explanation as to why or how this could have happened. I've succumbed to paying the bill to avoid any issues with my credit. They are a VERY DISHONEST COMPANY.

"I've had Fluent for close to 8 years…"

I've had Fluent for close to 8 years and was satisfied with my service. AND THEN. It started when I needed to change the account that the payment was taken from. I could not find anyway to contact the company that would address my issue. Many times the number just rang and rang with no answer. I tried several times to resolve this issue on my own. Finally I asked my the ACH department at my bank for the phone number that was attached to the withdrawal. Finally I spoke to a person. By this time I had decided to discontinue the service. I told the rep what I wanted to do and she told me that someone would call me back. She did not confirm my phone number. No one ever called me. To their credit they called my ex husband several times... so by January I placed a stop payment on the withdrawal. I needed to close this account. 4 months later I get a letter stating that my account is past due and they want 200 bucks. I called the number that was listed on the letter (a number no where to be found on their website BTW) The rep told me that someone would "call me back" GRRRR. That's when I found out they did not have the correct phone number. The rep called me today and informed me that I have an auto renewing contract that I can't get out of without a written request. When I asked why no representative ever mentioned that to me, or that my contract was auto renewing, Mitchell, the head of the resolution department informed me that it's not the reps in the call centers job to read the contracts or inform the consumer of the particulars of their specific contracts. IF this information had been given to me at the time, there would have been a much different outcome. Mitchell told me that he has no leeway to give me any grace on this situation because it was not Fluents fault in anyway. So now I must buy myself out of a contract I didnt know I had, since my recollection of the origional sale was that I had a 5 year contract that I must honor, and then it was month to month after that. Today is the first I've heard of an auto renewing 12month obligation. I did lose my temper with Mitchell becaue he would take no responsibility for any part of this process. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They are deceptive and nearly impossible to reach.

"Very happy with our Fluent system"

Very happy with our Fluent system. We’ve had issues in the past with people coming into our yard and looking around but since we had the system installed there have been no issues. Great service as well. Highly recommend.

Had great experience with Fluent! Sales rep was super easy to go through. Equipment was a lot better than our previous company and they lowered our rates.

Was a really good experience. I was a bit skeptical at first when someone knocked on my door but glad I went with Fluent. I’ve had it for a year now and I needed service once. They were quick and prompt to help me.

I bought the basic package to protect my home as well as a few cameras. Steven explained in depth the products that we installed in our home. I had a few questions after the install so Steven came back after the sale to show me how to use the panel. Good customer experience so far!
