Extremely ridiculous service. We cancelled the service about a month and a half ago and still they’re holding our money ransom! Refuse to give us back a simple refund. Pathetic service and agents that know nothing. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

"Don’t Do It!!!!!"
My mom who is 79 signed up for Fluent Home Security but wanted to cancel after her contract ended and before it renewed. She called in May 2020 seeing that the contract had to be canceled in July but after being on hold for 2 hours she hung up. She called back in June but this time the customer service rep told her that office was wasn’t in but so she wouldn’t have to be on hold for so long since they are Mountain Time she told her to call after 10:00am when that department would be in but neither rep informed my mom all she needs to do is just send in a letter of cancellation. King story short we talked with someone in the loyalty department on July 15th explained this entire situation how she spoke to two different reps and no one explained all she needed to do was email or send in her cancellation notice and because she called twice prior to cancel it would be taken care of. Even though I have the email confirmation from the last representative and the copy of her note she gets a call today September 29th saying they won’t except that because it’s dated July 15th and if she doesn’t pay there going to send her to collections!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

"Awful experience with a rep."
I'd like everyone to know what just happened to me with one of your sales reps. The sales rep that showed up was not wearing a mask. He then asked if I had noticed an increase in people trying doorknobs of homes personally or in the area. I said no. He said he was surprised. I read the news, I think I'd know. He also looked around 18-20 years old and was acting extremely nervous (he could barely form a sentence).
Long story short I said I wouldn't be purchasing anything without my partner present. He then asked a series of uncomfortable questions like, When will he be home? I said I was uncomfortable telling him when he works and I would not be answering that question. Clearly, he did see the irony in telling me there's apparently a rise in attempted break-ins and asking me when my home would be vacant. Are you kidding me?!
He kept asking. Does he often work varying shifts? Does he work for himself? When can I come back to talk?
At that point, I asked him to leave and I shut the door. This made me extremely uncomfortable.

"Worst Security Company Ever!"
My original negative review was deleted. So here is the updated version, not surprisingly the review has only gotten worse/longer over time.
Coles Notes: I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SECURITY COMPANY TO ANYONE EVER!
Long Version:
I was working abroad and my parents were worried about my house and they had a home security system installed as a housewarming gift. When I returned home I found the system did not work nor was it properly installed. It was past the 30 day trial period so I was unfortunately tied into the contract for the next 3 years. I assumed the monthly payments and had the account formally transferred to me.
This home security system has never worked properly in the 3 years I was stuck in a contract with this service provider. After many many calls to have the system fixed I was refunded a month or two since it was pretty much useless. I also have a few holes in the wall after the original botched installation. Save yourself the hassle and buy a home alarm system from Canadian Tire. (summary of my original review)
UPDATE: Finally my three year contract was coming to an end in April 2020. I called in March 2020 to find out what they needed from me to cancel the service (I noticed in the fine print that it needed to be cancelled in advance otherwise you would automatically be billed for additional months). I was told by the customer service representative that I could simply call closer to the end date of my contract. No problem, I saved a reminder in my calendar and called back mid-April. This time the representative tells me I need the other party whose name is on the contract to call as well. Okay no problem (my Dad’s name is also on the contract as they originally had it installed). About a week or so later when I have a day off work I drive 3 hours to my parents home to get him on the call so the service can be cancelled. I call and the resolutions team is not open on this day (of course). So the representative tells me they can set up a three way call in their system. So I head home and call on Monday. Now I am being told I cannot cancel over the phone. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS SUPER PREDATORY. I am now transferred over to the resolutions team and they start their spiel about why I should stay, deals they can offer, blah, blah. I cut them off because I am beyond tired of the run-around. Then I am told I need to fill out a hard copy request to cancel (this is the first time I am hearing about this). I ask to speak to the manager of the resolutions team who offers almost no apology and emails me the electronic copy of a form I need to get filled out and signed by my dad who was the original person on the installation contract. THE BEST PART...the fine print at the bottom of the form says cancellation will only be from the day the form is submitted. WHY WAS THIS FORM NOT EMAILED TO BE IN MARCH WHEN I CALLED ABOUT THE CANCELLATION PROCESS?!

I now see Fluent is squeezing you for any last cent they can.
My dad is not great with technology so now I have to find time to go see him to sign this form. Eventually I give up and send a docusign version that my sister helps my dad with so that I can finally send it back. Now not only am I being billed for the month of May but also the month of June because it is 30 days from the signed cancellation date. BIGGEST SCAM EVER.
Also their phone app is awful.
I am extremely disappointed with the service and furious with the predatory practices of this company.
Do not waste your time/money with them. You will find a better home security system at Canadian Tire.
A Positive: The only thing that seems to have worked consistently is the thermostat but again that is something you can get at any local home goods store with the easy to use technology on the market today.
Conclusion: Sorry for the long rant/review. I am just beside myself with this company and figured they have certainly earned this review.

I've worked for fluent for a short period of time, their buildings are unsanitary. Rats were running around the buildings, with no effort of trying to catch them. No communication between your supervisor and yourself. Technicians are sketchy, can charge any amount of installation fee they want. I've had a technician ask me to charge the customer $1000 for an installation. I spoke with my supervisor, let her know that this was concerning to me. She essentially said "Tough s**t, do what he's asking you to do. That's your job." They don't care about you unless you're friends with upper management. This is a terrible place to work at.

This business is an absolute joke. Hence why the do not have a google business account because their review rating was terrible. Equipment does work. Alarms go off faulty and no one ever calls to make sure everything is OK. They Scam you for extra money for call outs to get things fixed and if you don't then you're suck paying in a 3 year contract for a system that does not work. STAY AWAY

"We are having a terrible experience…"
We are having a terrible experience with Fluent~nothing but lies and run around~Our system hasn't worked for going on a month so clearly not being monitored or would have been notified by them~Do yourself a favor and dont get sucked in to this company~They will not work with you at all to try and resolve a problem they just bill you and you're on your own! We signed one of their contracts on an electronic device and were told we would be paying $39.99 but were billed $49.99 a month which we found out when they sent a copy of the agreement~Next they told us they would send the letter to the previous Security Company , and never did so since June 22 they have billed us 3 times plus our old company has billed us~They also told us since we had already been billed in June for our old company they would not bill us in July, guess what they did~So its kind of hard to feel safe with a company who lies and sucks u in and refuses to resolve problems~In other words we are paying for a security system and it is dead~ SinceJune 20 we have paid $284.49 total for a security system that is not working~SO do i recommend Fluent ~absolutely NOT! Save yourself a lot of trouble and if they come to your door, say no thank you~If I could give the Zero stars I would

"This is the worst company ever"
This is the worst company ever. They came in my home implying they were with our security company. Agent never corrected me when I called them our providers name. When we finally realized they were not our provider he was OH OH wait we will pay your change over fees. We will do this and do that. Well that was a lie also. That they had pet stickers for our windows nope. Claimed they installed new equipment they use existing equipment. Said had 3 weeks to change our mind. It was 3 days counting the weekend which they weren't open. I sale my house. They don't cover where I moved to. Have to pay earlier disconnect. To make it worst I give new owner Fluent's info if they are interested in taking over my account. I give Fluent new owners info. Maybe the new owners will take over my contract. NO Fluent signs them to a new contract for less money than mine. Still hits me with a early disconnect fee. Yet they are using my equipment???????????????? THE WORST DO NOT USE LIARS AND THIEVES. If you want a good company use Vivint or ADT.
