So, the timeline of events:
I placed an order on 19.12.23 at 17.23 pm
At 21.30 on that same day (just under 4 hours later) I realise my error and email to request cancellation.
The following afternoon at 12.39 , I receive a reply National Lighting that it has already left your warehouse and that it is out for delivery. They said the following:
‘Dear Harriet,
Further to your email, I have checked on the status of your order and the order has already left as per tracking below:
* link to tracking *
Therefore at this stage all I can suggest is that you refuse the delivery when attempted by FedEx tomorrow. Please note that this is not always guaranteed. I will keep a look out on the tracking too.

You advised in this email that refusing the delivery may not work and when I requested a returns reference in case I need to get it back to them in the conventional way and refusing delivery during work, you tell me I’m responsible for the costs incurred in returning.
If your item has already been shipped before a cancellation request is completed, you will need to return the goods to us at your own cost. This would include costs for carriage paid and any additional cost accrued such as insurance. National Lighting will not cover the cost of returned goods. Please obtain proof of posting or send the item with a tracking number as we cannot accept responsibility for Goods lost in transit.
This is what it states on your website. My request was made prior to it being sent and the fact it was not completed was down to tardiness on their part.
Anyway, I refused the delivery on 21.12.23 and needless to say still have not received a refund!

Unfortunately the courier company lost it somewhere!!
After many attempts to get a response from the courier I contacted NL and they replied immediately. And offered a replacement to be forwarded to me.
