"AVOID ORBIT AT ALL COSTS"

We booked through Orbit after specifically choosing a rental company based in Dubai airport.When we arrived we found out that the company was nowhere near the airport and arranging transport there was not easy.We returned the car after 10 days of rental and were told that the security deposit (over £250) would be held for 21 days.This was on January 9th and it is now February 7th- there is no sign of the money.I called Orbit and they said it is normal for all their rentals to hold (not block) the security deposit for a month.Orbit also told me that they do this in case of damage and then put the phone down on me.So, if you deal with Orbit be prepared to lose your security deposit and DO NOT expect any help from their customer service. You will see that their response below confirms the fact that you are charged the full security deposit rather than it being 'blocked'.Therefore, Orbit think that this is reasonable although you are at the mercy of a company thousands of miles away. I called Orbit as I had booked through them in the UK.I thought that they would put the customer first and try to investigate.However, they were very unhelpful and gave the impression that they weren't interested in the slightest.Since then, my credit card company have agreed to investigate and won't be charging me until the investigation has been completed.If you wish to go through this then book with Orbit.I certainly won't go near them again.*** It has now been well over a month since we returned from Dubai and there is no sign of the security deposit or no communication from this company.While we were in Dubai we were told to contact the Dubai Tourist police as this company has a history of this.This will be our next move in an attempt to recover our stolen money.Orbit deals with these companies,who scam customers, and when you ask for help, they ( Orbit) are very rude & unhelpful.I will be taking this further in a bid to stop future scams. Go to TripAdvisor & look for reviews of AMEX Car Rentals Sharjah.It shows many people who had their security deposits stolen by this company.It doesn't allow me to post the link here.AMEX are stealing people's money and Orbit continue to deal with them.AVOID!!!!
