"Astronomical costs, weak advice, poor representation leading to a financially disastrous outcome"

Despite the astronomical fees (in excess of £126k!), Stowe unilaterally failed to represent me robustly and uphold my best interests during my divorce case. Instead they allowed significant fees to mount up whilst taking a weak and passive stance around my position. They spectacularly failed to represent me effectively around a number of fundamental and critical material factors especially during the closing stages of the Final Arbitration process leading to a financially disastrous outcome. Their focus was clearly on how they could generate income from my misfortune evidenced not least through the solicitor leading my case being promoted three times on top of the usual periodic fee increases. This entire process has left me financially and emotionally exhausted with absolutely NOTHING to show for it. My advice would be NOT to use this firm under any circumstances

I always felt like there was someone in my corner, and her advice was exemplary. I never had any issues getting in touch with her, and most times she answered emails almost instantly. It was also very easy to speak to her on the phone when need be.

I was impressed by the range of knowledge that was applied, as my case was not straight forward.

I originally spoke to Alexzandra Hughes at Stowe Family law just for some early advice for my divorce but she immediately put me so at ease and was clearly very experienced and happy to give her support so I instructed her and she has been fantastic all throughout. Frankly she has put the other side’s solicitor to shame and has always been easy to get in contact with and is great at explaining all the complicated processes in an easy to understand way. Avoid like the plague. ‘Charge and charge like a bull, that’s Stowes’ quote from one barrister from Manchester and how right he was. They are so money grabbing they forget totally about the client. In fact, in my son’s case, they favoured his violent ex wife, by giving her solicitors leniency and leaving out important evidence during the court proceedings.The cost of the divorce and child contact was £38,000. I lie not. We changed solicitors towards the end of my son’s divorce as my husband and I were completely stressed by this vile company’s charges. My husband and I financed the divorce for my son.When my son protested on our behalf we received £3000 back for their overcharging and incompetent work.When you dare to criticise them this company sends you a barrage of aggressive and rude emails. They circle like vultures. Their charges are so derisory they even charge you for emails to send you their bills! You have been warned.

I started using Stowes when I was about half way through my family law case, after using one solicitor without much progress and then representing myself, I came to stowes rather frazzled and desperate for help.
