"Nervous dog "

Our dog was nervous at first but did settle down , she’s not a fan of the groom but I was put at ease when told she did fab .

"Groomer treating dog badly"

I’m not going to name the Groom Room or the Groomer but we witnessed a Groomer aggressively abusing our dog by pulling his head by his hair and holding his head in a headlock very tightly several times. This was after looking around making sure no one was looking and as It was early morning thought he could rag our dog about by the head at will. We caught him red handed and immediately complained to the Manager who initially seemed to defend him but quickly changed when both me and my wife confronted him and had a word with the Groomer. The groomer eventually apologised and just about admitted what he had done but that does not make up for the ordeal the dog was put through. We immediately got the dog out of the shop and knew he was stressed as he expressed hides anal glands in the car on the way home. We have had a follow up call and been told it had been dealt with internally and the incident logged. Im not sure that’s much of a reassurance and we now need to decide if we ever use Pets at Home Groom Room again. I think the answer to that is going to be a big no which is a shame as he has been going for about 2 years without any issue. We have previously found the Groomers friendly and professional. We are still in shock that a Groomer could treat an animal in that way.

The staff were so friendly and nice. Unfortunately our little pup got really upset and the staff made swift action to get us to come to get him.
