"Basic feature missing, but overall solid"

Weird that with ALL of the technology incoporated into RingCentral that a basic feature is nowhere to be found. Sometimes I don't wanna answer a call when it comes in. WHY is there no "Send to VM" button on the call screen option?!?! I can "ignore" it, but then it comes right back to me in 5 seconds. So then my phone rings 6 different times. I had a 20 year old Digium / Switchvox system that had that option for crying out loud. But I've talked to support and chatted online sure enough, no Send to VM option exists. Weak sauce.

For some strange bizarro reason you CAN send a call to VM WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CALL!! Who on earth does that?! Yeah, I'll talk to you for a few seconds but NOW I'll dump you into VM. WTH?! Does anyone use that feature?? No way they do.

Anyway, the system is solid and you can micromanage reports until the cows come home. But not having a basic feature, to me, is almost enough reason to look elsewhere for service.

"I honestly hate having this platform"

I honestly hate having this platform. They have terrible customer service, they leave you on hold, to get ahold of anyone is a mission and its a phone company you would expect them to have good phone service. On top of that its expensive for no reason. They overcharge for everything. I'm cancelling and moving to another platform.

"Okay but could be way better"

RingCentral is just okay. We have a lot of issues with call queue agents dropping calls even with a direct high-speed ethernet connection. There's no shared missed call log option for call queue members; only user missed call log, which duplicates return missed call callbacks if more than one agent in a call gets rolled over to the incoming call, even if based on idle time. RingCentrals Performance Reports for call queue users are not accurate (only at the user account level), which skews data like refused calls, etc. RingCentral is missing important features like multiple after-hours incoming call rules to forward specific extensions to help set up specific timeframes. There is no manual override deskphone of softphone RC app of user DND in Admin Portal (unsure of beta pairing but will test). I may have a workaround to add all user accounts to my softphone app to manually override. There's no voice-to-text dictation to send SMS text faster from call representatives, or RC user accounts. The app doesn't play well with 3rd party Caller ID Reputation Management Software to increase the answer rate and shows Spam Likely or Potential Spam. No auto Do Not Call registration for phone numbers in inventory or assigned number phones to avoid spam/robo. No cross-reference state or federal Do Not Call telemarketing lists.

I do like the new SMS templates; I just wish you could apply from the Admin Portal access level instead of at the user account level.

"They will make you register for TCR…"

They will make you register for TCR compliance. But then tell you when something is wrong they don't have a way to look at your website to verify compliance. I've been trying to resolve this since I signed up with them 4 months ago and have been having to text clients off my personal phone for that entire time. Every time I make a change that they tell me I need to make it gets denied. I switched to this company from Google Voice because of another provider we use that provides custom hold music for the business. If I would have know what a headache switching to RingCentral would be I would have canceled both.
