The whole property-buying process was aided by 7 or 8 different people, and all were great - helpful, professional and took time to explain things. Communication was quite good from what I understand with solicitors; not perfect but I know they are very busy. I guess that my expectations around this were also higher than usual, as I found buying a flat as a first time buyer quite an anxiety-provoking experience!

The firm was one of three recommended by the affordable housing developer I was buying from, so I was a bit concerned that the solicitors would be slightly less than enthusiastic when it came to representing my interests. However, the solicitor, Sharon Higgs, was extremely diligent and I am very satisfied with the service provided.

I would recommend Direction Law in general, and particularly when it comes to affordable housing.

We have previously used Direction Law for a few transactions and had a good service. We have recently used them again, and the service has deteriorated. Firstly trying to phone them is impossible and replies to emails can take a day or two. We had a particularly tricky issue towards the end of the transaction only to find out, we were not told, the lawyer had gone on leave, another lawyer James Rattigan, stepped in and was very helpful and then a week later we found out he too went on holiday without our matter being allocated. Eventually the transaction was completed but with a lot of prodding from ourselves and the agent. We only received our completion statement after the transaction only to find it was incorrect.

I would pay pay more for a better form if you want piece of mind with your transaction.

My conveyancer was Sofia Ahmad. At the end she simply disappeared and one of the office directors had to step in and help me.
It was the most difficult year.
