"Really disappointed with their customer service"

Really disappointed with their customer service. I have used their service in the past with no issues but this year I needed to file my Partnership return and logged in to my account and got prompted to pay £52 using credit card through PayPal. I have made the payment and the payment has taken out but still can't access my account. Trying to contact their billing and support department but response for the last two weeks.
Just fed up with their service and won't me using their service again. Will make a formal complaint to HMRC to remove their name for their website as trusted company.

"Taxfiler dragged their feet and then…"

Taxfiler dragged their feet and then referred me HMRC to resolve the issues relating to preparation of 2024 tax returns using their software.

Customer service has gone from 5 star to zero almost overnight.

"Dead customer service"

Despite our repeated requests and pointing out serious software issues, you have not addressed the problems we've raised. The quality of your customer support is extremely poor, and it's clear that your developers lack the expertise that even my own IT personnel possess.
Your service has wasted a significant amount of our time, including my IT staff's, forcing us to manually submit our tax returns and financial accounts via the HMRC website & Companies House Webste. I don't even have read-only access to your software, which you promised. We joined Iris upon your insistence, yet the data transfer process you outlined in your emails and on your website's demo failed. We followed every step you provided, but instead of offering support, you blocked my read-only access, which feels like you're intentionally causing financial hardship. Both Iris and TaxFiler expect payment, essentially double-charging us, which is completely unacceptable.
Given the stress and inconvenience caused, I'm prepared to escalate this matter to the Ombudsman and pursue legal action for the financial losses and emotional distress you've inflicted. I've never had to complain before, despite being a long-time customer and paying all required fees on time. Your customer service has been consistently inadequate, and I'm not confident that you'll understand the severity of my complaint.

"Horrendous experience with the forced data migration"

I would have given this software a 4 or 5 if it wasnt for the horrendous experience we have had over the data migration process. Forced to move away from a package, failed migration process, lack of support, communication, guidance. Iris sold us a package that seemingly we should not have been sold!!! We have 7 days left on our taxfiler software and no one is helping us in a time appropriate manner. Absolute disgrace!!!! Might sound overdramatic but it has been a mentally draining and stressful experience!!! This has been ongoing since September 2023 to date and is still unresolved!!!!

"Software issues annually on the busiest days of the year"

I've been a TaxFiler user for years, but since its acquisition by Iris I have noticed two things.

1. Price increases of double/digits or close to
2. Server issues on critical deadline day/s every year, despite charging more to their customers, they have failed to upgrade.

They will want you to move over to Elements, but frankly I have no confidence they will put any more care into that product.

"If I could put no stars, I would...."

If I could put no stars, I would. Love this product, but since Iris have taken over the service is rubbish. Emails are getting completely ignored. Such a shame!

"Really awful migration experience"

Really awful experience trying to do the enforced migration from Taxfiler to IRIS Elements. Confusing and incoherent instructions and terrible customer support. Impossible to speak to anyone and long delays with the email support - though some support staff are very helpful when they eventually make contact. Taxfiler and IRIS are worse in terms of communication than HMRC and that's a very low bar!! Shame as Taxfiler used to be excellent.

"Great product"

Great product. I have been using this since 2015. I have the same concern as others that once Iris has bought this, it may go downhill. However, still as of today, the product has not let me down.

I now can see a message in my account that it is being transferred over to Iris Elements. I am a bit nervous about this move since me and my team are heavily invested in this over last few years.

Happy to use this in future as far as the support is there and it doesn't break the bank.

"Appalling"

The software itself is good, I've been using it for my accountancy practice for several years. However, the customer service is non-existent. I've been trying to access my account since last week. I emailed as advised on Monday, spoke to the live chat, which is actually a bot, and emailed another department yesterday. I've emailed again today and tried live chat again, to be given exactly the same advice word for word and a blunt "we don't do telephone support, someone will email you." It's almost month end and I can't access my client data. This is appalling. I'm currently looking for an alternative software provider.

**Updated to add that I was finally contacted by someone after I'd emailed the main support desk at Iris. It still took another 3 days of back and forth as my emails were not read properly, however the situation was finally resolved. One week later I've received another email apologising for the problem and giving me a free month.
