Having used Brightpearl for the last 9 years the system simply does what it "says on the tin" - the support team have always been quick to respond and resolve any issues raised.

Left BrightPearl after being clients for 5 years. The level of disrespect we received from the sales team was unprecedented. Cocky, rude, unethical. There is a bad vibe in that company and it's run like a "boiler room".

I have been with Brightpearl for about 5 years but am leaving. At long last. I tried to leave last year but they were very unaccommodating and I was forced to continue for another year as they wouldn't offer a short contract (3 months) to allow me to start with the new software at the beginning of my financial year. I was initially attracted to Brightpearl because it had accounting built in, but that turns out to have been a big mistake as there are other companies with more marketplace integrations and much more functionalty that have integrations with accounting software that simply exports all the necessary data into relatively low cost accounting software such as Xero or Quickbooks or Sage. About the only thing that Brightpearl seem to have been interested in is getting more money out of their customers. When I signed up they adverised Brightpearl as the software to automate your online selling. But it didn't really do that. A couple of years later at considerable extra cost they released an add on app called Brightpearl Automation that does seem to deliver on automation. However other software offers that at no extra cost. Brightpearl also claimed that you could list directly onto eBay but it turned out that you couldn't because Brightpearl didn't support eBay's postage policies which is the easiest way to define shipping costs on eBay. FIve years on you can't list directly onto any marketplace from Brightpearl. Brightpearl claim that it integrates with Amazon, but this is only partially true as they have completely ignored the new marketplaces that Amazon have opened. This just seems like unbelievable laziness as other software has integrated with all of them, as well as other marketplaces for which Brightpearl has no integration. Brightpearl is just about to add OnBuy which once again comes at extra cost, though other software does not charge extra for this integration. And why would they chose OnBuy, people who do sell there tell me that it generates very few orders. The software that I am moving to, who's regular price is just over 50% of the normal cost of Brightpearl, also offers direct listing to all the marketplaces that it covers, and for European markets where you don't speak the language and can't do the translations yourself, Google Translate Professional is integrated with the software so you can list on at least 5 more marketplaces than you can with Brightpearl without having to leave the software (you can't do that with Brightpearl). And they are looking at adding more marketplaces in the future without the extra costs charged by Brightpearl. Now that I am finally leaving it was suggested that I might benefit from read only access so that we could easily double check things like warranty claims. They offered me a years read only access for £10,080 which is more than double my yearly contract for full use of the software. Now, if that isn't taking the mickey, I don't know what is!!!
Something I forgot: Brightpearl doesn't calculate VAT correctly. If you get an order from the Channel Islands, Brightpearl will add 20% VAT even though there is no VAT in th Channel Islands. (it does the same with the Canary Islands which also are not subject to VAT. It would be simply to write a filter to catch these and put correct 0 VAT on them, but they just don't seem to care if their customers are paying the tax men a bit more than they should be.
With all these negatives comes one good area. Support, who are very good and responsive. Shame they don't run the company.

"Just transitioned to Brighpearl..."

When our order management platform Stitchlabs announced they were being bought (by Square I think?) last year, and announced they'd be sunsetting the Stitchlabs platform sometime around mid-2021, we tried to take advantage of being forced to find a new platform.

Our company in many ways had already outgrown Stitchlabs, and the market for replacements felt like there were only 1:1 replacements, or the option to jump to a full ERP platform (Salesforce, Netsuite, etc). Unless your team is large enough to dedicate a team to the launch & management of an ERP platform it's an unrealistic project to take on.

Enter Brightpearl. In many ways Brightpearl hits the sweet spot in between the features/functionality of platforms like Stitclabs/Cin7 and ERP systems without requiring the substantial investment of time and people dedicated to the implementation and ongoing management of the platform.

Having just been migrated over to Brightpearl a few weeks ago I have to say the overall experience has been great. They're extremely thorough in identifying your specific business needs, making sure the platform will meet all of those needs, and tailoring your implementation and training around them as well. For switching out a central system that needs to integrate with practically every other platform our business uses, the migration to Brightpearl was about as seamless as one could ask for. The Project Manager, Training Manager, and integrations team are all dedicated, responsive, and expect the same of you.

Bottom line: everything has been great so far, and whether or not you are just lookin into a new platform for omnichannel operations management, or need a replacement for your current platform, you should be looking into Brightpearl.
