"Fantastic training for grassland plant identification"

Fantastic grassland identification course for beginners and intermediates, covering five common plant families (also including some grasses) and their key identification features, found on chalk grasslands. Leif was a great teacher and the practical survey during the afternoon allowed us to practice what we had learnt and ask about other species we’d not yet discussed.

Brilliant course, good speed and the tests really help. The self led aspect really suited the day I ended up having so able to pop back when I needed to really helped. Looking forward to doing more courses.

Brilliant course! Loads to take on but, for me anyway, there's no need to remember absolutely everything...i definitely came out knowing more than i did when i started and am now confident at classifying a variety of different grasslands (+ heath and bog)

Dom has put a lot of thought into making this course enjoyable and full of relevant information. He's also found some fantastic sites to visit. His delivery is humorous, personable and backed up with a wealth of knowledge and experience. 2 days well spent.

The course was great, the lectures were delivered clearly, with some cheesy humour thrown in! and many great tips on identifying tricky species. I leaned a massive amount. The only downside was that with the pace that I comfortably work at, which ideally includes writing notes and pausing the video to study details on the slides, I ran out of time and had to rush through the last couple of sections before the video went off-air! I would thoroughly recommend this course but suggest starting as early as you can so you can do it at a comfortable pace.

A great day looking at rare orchids with Leif. I had a really good day, Leif is full of knowledge and passion for orchids and did a great job showing everyone all the orchids. I found it really interesting how he knew so much about the specific species and was able to talk at length about how they are pollinated which was fascinating. The passion came through and it was well organised. An outstanding event.

Course title: Habitat Indicator Species ONLINE. As always another informative and entertaining course from the SRT. There was tonnes of information to absorb (in a good way) and has given me a much deeper understanding on some of the key habitats as well as helping with species ID with lots of useful tips in aiding identification and telling different species apart.

A fantastic two-day course led by Dom, taught in a friendly and relaxed manner which made the course a lot of fun as well as a valuable learning experience. I will definitely be going on another one! Many thanks for an excellent training course.
