The Species Recovery Trust Training Courses

"Interesting grassland flora course"
Interesting course, useful to identify key monocot species in different types of grassland habitats. Perhaps worth renaming as not only grasses but includes also sedges and rushes

"Great Course"
I would recommended this course as it was great fun and very useful. It provided relevant tips, looking at the main plant parts, to get the correct ID for grasses and a few sedges/rushes without going through a long and tedious key. It was delivered by a fun course instructor who comes across in a friendly manner friendly whom you can comfortably learn from, rather than an intimidating expert using complicated jargon.

"Great training experience"
I found the training really useful, delivered in a friendly
and approachable manner. The round up at the end was a great way to finish the course and recap what we had learnt. Looking forward to doing further courses with the Species Recovery Trust in the future.

"Big eye opener into the world of flora…"
Big eye opener into the world of flora in acid heathlands and bogs

"Another great SRT course"
Another great SRT course - learning but having fun at the same time, an excellent combination! Even the rain didn't spoil it!

"Suberb"
This was a really good, well run and informative course. I really learnt a lot about plant families and plant species and variation. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good aquatic botany course.

"Arable Plant ID and Ecology training day"
I attended this one day training event (Arable plant identification and ecology) at the Roundwood Estate, Hampshire (led by Dr Phil Wilson, organised by Species Recovery Trust) on 27/07/22. We saw lots of interesting and (now) uncommon arable plants (not 'weeds'! ;)). I encountered nearly 30 new species to me, so it was a really good day. Recommended.

"Aquatic Plants course"
The one-day Aquatic Plants course was very enjoyable - the tutor Sharon was excellent and the location at Langford Lakes was great. My only quibble is with the title of the course, which I found to be slightly misleading. I signed up for it - and made a long journey - as aquatic plants are a specific weak point in my botanical skills. It was therefore slightly disappointing that a significant part of the day was spent looking at common plants that live in damp places (Meadowsweet, Hemp Agrimony etc) which I'd hardly describe as aquatic. Could the course perhaps be re-titled to something a little more accurate?

"Great day"
Really informative day, the course lead was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Lovely area too.
