The leader is an excellent guide and tutor. We saw all of the orchids we expected to see and many other plants too. The organisation was very good, and car sharing worked well, as there was limited parking at the last site. It helped that the weather was good, sunshine and a gentle breeze. I shall certainly consider more field trips with The species recovery trust.

Leif is an excellent course leader and made the enjoyable business of looking for orchids in three beautiful sites interesting and informative.
Practical arrangements worked well and the course started on time and kept to the timetable in spite of having to travel between each of the three sites. Well worth it.

Really knowledgeable course leaders who were easy to engage with and who somehow managed not to make you feel under the microscope even though they were observing you for assessment the whole time. It helps that the venue itself was stunning too!

I spent two fantastic days in the New Forest and got a chance to do a hands on selection of surveying techniques while learning about some of the practicalities and challenges in conservation. There is also a classroom element to this course and a competency exam!
The course tutors were professional and friendly and made the whole experience fun and educational. I fully recommend this course to anyone interested in the subject.

Around Britain in 25 grasses 2023 online;
The material was clearly presented and easy to assimilate. There were lots of useful tips on identification and ways of remembering differences between similar species. I particularly found the vegetative identification tips useful. The use of lots of photographs, especially of small detailed features was also very helpful
