Muzata Railing

"Pretty Solid"
Really, this is a 4.5/5 stars.
Let's start with customer support and assistance. The company authentically wants to make your project work. Their designed and plans fit our space and came in a timely manner. They were generally easy to understand and work from, but I recommend really taking into account your own project needs and measure VERY carefully. Consider where you have blocking, mounting points, etc. Their plans will only be as accurate as the plans you provide. We had to make field adjustments for a few minor things-- which is normal. Muzata takes your questions and generally gets back to you quickly. Their answers are not ALWAYS helpful, but they will pass your questions along if you feel dissatisfied with an answer.
The construction materials are generally pretty good, and the final product does look really clean... Everyone that has seen the railing asks who made it.
There were a few setbacks along the way. One of our posts was welded a little off kilter and we have to place that footing at a slight angle...
We also had some serious challenges with the angled cable runs. It is exceedingly challenging to get the angled cables the correct length and tension. The Angle Beveled Washer make is SO hard to get those CB40 tensioners at the right angle and tightened properly. I would honestly recommend doing the bigger exposed tensioners for the stairs, and then run the seamless hidden CB40s on the horizontal stretches. It will save you SO much time and headache. It is a little less sleek, but it is a small price to pay for hours back of your life.
The other challenge we faced was maintaining high enough tension on the cables. If you have a VERY strict building code and will get a detailed inspection, you might need to avoid the hidden tensioners. Getting them swaged, cut to the right length, and tightening them down in order to pass a 4" sphere test is such a delicate dance... the exposed tensioners are MUCH more robust and will meet all building codes... the other ones... maybe... IF you get everything perfect... AND if your cable runs are short enough. It also might help if they have metal cable run supports rather than those rubber washer gaskets. Something that holds the cable, without the give of the rubber, will limit its movement during inspection/load bearing. The rails and posts are definitely strong enough, though. Those suckers will easily take the 200 pounds required by stricter codes.
That leads to the last issue. The CB40 tensioners are fickle beasts. If you mess up on the length by even a centimeter, the whole run of cable, the CB40, and the anchor end are all garbage (unless you are planning on making an assemblage art piece of Predator)... That is like a 10-20 dollar mistake each time. And let me tell you, until you get the hang of it, you WILL make some serious mistakes. I ran 84 cables in all and I think I had to redo 20 of them (either because they were too long, too short, or snapped loose of the swage point during tightening). That is maybe 300 dollars worth of whoopsies... Whoospie.
STILL, in the end, our contractor estimated the cable railing to cost 15,000 dollars! We did it for maybe a smidge north of 5k over 3 or 4 weekends. That is a serious win. When a corner bracket bent up under tension, they sent me a new one free of charge. When I had recommendations for improving their products, they seriously listened and asked clarifying questions. The company is responsive, the materials look great, and it passed a California inspection. Really pleased with the final product and price.

Muzata did an amazing job from the time I emailed them for a layout and quote. They responded quickly and send a layout with
quote quickly. They answered all questions quickly on installation and even sent a video that was very helpful. We love the railings and will use them again when needed. Highly recommend.

I did a small DIY project for my daughter. I created a reading nook from some space we had above a closet. The customer service at Muzata was nothing short of amazing. Even though this was small, their help did not waver when I needed it. Great product.

"Sturdy Railing & Looks Great…"
Good fairly straightforward railing to install.
Directions were a little confusing do to the fact you receive more parts than what is required. It is good they send you everything you may need for every type of installation, but with nothing to show you exactly what you need for your specific project, it takes a little creativity and common sense to figure it out.

"Short connectors "
Brandon was understanding and listened to what was happening and what i needed to make things right. After hearing my thoughts on the system, which i am very happy with, he said he could provide me with the parts I needed. I'm a builder and needed the railings complete to get my approvals so my customer could move in. He said he would send them in 2 days so I could complete the job! Fantastic attitude and service! That's what companies should do. I will definitely use Muzata railings in the future. Thanks to Brandon for your help.
