We cancelled due to Covid and could not get a refund so we had to use the money. Communication was difficult and we were not told that we needed to look at cities and beaches so the original trip was fully booked for the dates we wanted by the time we knew this.
The travel arrangements went to plan except for Ryanair changing the flights twice. The transfers were excellent.
The White Olive premium, we stayed at was lovely and immaculately clean at all times. Staff were helpful and friendly and the maitre Bruna could not have been more helpful. The food catered for most European tastes but was disappointing with only a small amount of Greek food.

"I have just returned from our trip (…"

I have just returned from our trip ( there were 4 in our group) to Peru and I must say that everything went smoothly. All the hotels were well located and clean. All our local guides from Lima Tours were wonderful and very knowledgeable. All the drivers, of which there were many since travel in Peru is mainly done by car, their clean and air-conditioned small buses made the long drives through very hilly country comfortable and secure. I am extremely pleased with Citrus Holidays for their choices of all the above.
My one and only reservation is with the poor communication between our group and the office (both in Toronto and the U.K. ). Since having paid for our trip in November of 2019 and having projected to travel in May 2020, there was no effort made to keep us informed about our rebooking. It took a multitude of emails between myself and at least 10 representatives from your office to get us back on track. I realize that Covid made things difficult, however, having stated that we wanted to rebook and also having completely paid, it should have been YOUR (Citrus Holidays) priority to keep us informed and not for ME to chase you.
I would like to recognize Ruchi, from Citrus Holidays, for the work she did to finally get our trip organized. It was GREAT!

"Fast and effective"

Fast and effective. Gave them a ring and had a great holiday deal sorted within 20 minutes. Gave all our info, paid and had everything sorted within two weeks. Answered email promptly with follow up info. Can’t fault them.

"Although my holiday turned out well in…"

Although my holiday turned out well in the end, I can’t rate this company any higher due to the terrible customer service I received. My trip had to be rebooked twice due to COVID, and each time I was charged an extra fee of $300 for reasons that were never transparently explained to me. When I asked, I was simply told that “prices had gone up”, with no specific details. I finally figured out that they were just charging me a rebooking fee, without actually wanting to tell me that they were doing this for some reason. The worst part was after the second cancellation. Despite the fact that they knew my new dates for an entire year, nothing was actually booked until about three weeks before my departure date. Although I emailed and left voicemails many times over the months in between, these were almost always ignored. And I mean just completely ignored, no response. I have never encountered such rude and unprofessional service. It eventually led me to believe that either I was dealing with scammers, or that the company had gone out of business, and in either case I had lost the thousands of dollars I had already paid them unless I could figure out how to sue a company in another country and succeed. I literally had no idea whether or not I would be going on the trip until three weeks before I left, when they finally began communicating with me again and finally made the bookings. I just can’t understand how anyone can think this is an acceptable way to treat a customer. It caused me a great deal of anxiety, and ruined the process of looking forward to my holiday because I was so stressed about whether it would even happen. I am frankly puzzled by the reviews that claim this company provides good customer service, because this was the complete opposite of my experience. I do not recommend them.

"A company not to be trusted."

This is the third holiday booked through Citrus Holidays over the past two years and the first that actually happened. The previous two were cancelled by them, one due to the airline, which was outside their control but the second to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt was because they booked us onto flights that didn't actually exist and then they tried to lie about it by saying the airline had just cancelled them. They did try to get us on alternative flights but at a much higher cost to us and to stay in a different hotel which we didn't want. When we cancelled the holiday they then tried to fob us off with a voucher to be used on a different holiday until I had to threaten them with legal action. Even this latest holiday to Sorrento, they lost our hotel booking only a week before the holiday was due to start. Again they found us an alternative hotel but several miles away from where we wanted to be so they did at least then find another hotel booking agency to reinstate our rooms at the chosen hotel. They also promised to send an email to the chosen hotel requesting that we be upgraded, if rooms were available, to compensate us for the inconvenience. When we got to the hotel I asked the reservations manager if this email had been received, which of course it hadn't because I doubt that Citrus bothered to send it. At no point through any of these debacles have they offered us any compensation for the distress and disruption that their poor customer service has caused us. So we will not be using them ever again and I would strongly advise anyone else considering them to steer well clear as they are not to be trusted and are totally incompetent.
