"Great service from our initial contact"

Great service from our initial contact, engineers arrived on time and communication with Lauren was first class at all times. Initial survey carried out by George who was very knowledgeable and willing to spend time going through questions that I had. Jack was our fitter and he was brilliant, really friendly, worked hard and left the area he was working in clean and tidy. Great explanation of how to control the boiler. A great experience all round. I would certainly recommend this company if you are thinking about a new boiler

"Would NOT RECOMMEND "

I recently used Surrey Gas for a boiler service, and while the technician who came today with the replacement parts was courteous and professional, my overall experience with the company has been very disappointing.

During the initial service appointment, I was not informed in advance that a failed reading could result in the boiler being switched off completely. This is a significant action with major consequences — particularly for households like mine with young children and an elderly parent. Had I been properly advised beforehand that the boiler could be isolated as a result of the service, I would have chosen to postpone the appointment until an appropriate time. I raised this concern with the original engineer, but rather than show understanding, he became confrontational and threatened to report the issue to the gas supplier unless I complied immediately. I felt pressured into accepting the quote on the spot just to avoid having my entire gas supply disconnected.

From a compliance and duty-of-care perspective, this is a clear failure in customer communication. Service providers have a responsibility to explain the possible implications of a failed service check before any work begins — especially if those implications include losing access to heating and hot water. The lack of clear communication left my family without these essentials for several days unnecessarily, despite the repair being scheduled.

Given the stress and disruption this caused, I believe compensation would be appropriate. I hope Surrey Gas takes this feedback seriously and reviews their customer communication process to ensure others are not left in a similar situation.

Efficient and friendly service providing the quotation and booking the boiler installation date. The engineer was on time, tidy and friendly. Excellent service.

"New boiler installation "

From speaking to Lauren on the phone and the helpful advice given by George on he’s visit I would definitely recommend Surrey gas. My old boiler needed replacing and jack installed a new one very professionally telling us exactly what he was doing whilst carrying out the job. Thank you Surrey gas

Excellent service from enquiry to installation, George was great either way the visit, quote and follow-up.
The installation was done to a high standard and Paul the engineer was excellent, tidy and cleaned up everything. Would recommend Surrey Gas to anyone!
