Appointing Guv Samra at Shoosmiths was invaluable. I had started an EHCP appeal tribunal process and we had hit dead-end after dead-end and called Guv after finding multiple great reviews of her online. She spoke to me at length and made sure I had absolutely everything I needed before even taking the case on. Communication was faultless, quick response by email/telephone every time. Any doubts she had over the case were quickly communicated to me so we could rectify. She managed to bring the tribunal hearing date forward by nearly 5 months and the LA conceded before the hearing took place. We successfully won the case and a place at our chosen Specialist Independent out of county school for our son.

Guv Samra at Shoosmiths has been extremely helpful to us and our daughter.
We have had big problems getting our local authority to (1) produce an acceptable EHCP and, perhaps more importantly, (2) agree to funding for a college placement for her next year.
Guv's interventions and communications undoubtedly helped with the latter - we suspect that we may have faced repeated rejection without her help and certainly the Local Authority would have taken a lot longer to have reached a decision without her repeated prompting them. We thought we would have to go to a Tribunal to resolve this, but Guv's assertive communications [and detailed knowledge of the statutory laws in this complex area] with the Local Authority resulted in them suspecting that they would "lose" at Tribunal, so thankfully we did not have to go that far.
The EHCP is, quite remarkably, still not resolved [her EHCP meeting was last November!], but Guv worked very hard at getting them to include a lot of very important information which we would not have had the confidence/knowledge to have insisted upon ... so there's no doubt that the final document will be much better than we could have made it without her help.
We are really grateful to Guv and feel that without her help we would not have made any reasonable progression at all.
Her attention to detail, enthusiasm and knowledge were all excellent. She communicated really effectively with the Local Authority and very frequently sent them messages to remind them that they really needed to respond to the questions/comments that she sent them. We found the whole process tiring and somewhat demoralising and it has been at times difficult to find the energy to keep contacting them, despite knowing how important this was, but Guv did this for us, and very effectively.

Shoosmiths solicitors have been representing me with my case of clinical negligence. There were multiple mistakes with the care I received from the NHS during my labour with my little girl.
