Been with them for around 10 years and it’s always the same issue .
They always need something else or extra.
Very slow to get you there and then just when you think you have everything in place for the pre audit they say it’s with the auditors for approval.
This time round they said that approval still has to be done but I need to renew my membership which has just come up now if I want to get accreditation .
This is being held to ransom and in my opinion is just upsetting because it’s the same every year .
So spent money but never seeing the end result .
I am so frustrated as we are a small business and they are really not helpful and when I spoke to Andy I was told I would get approval very shortly .
However 2 days later my account has been suspended and I would get nothing until I renewed the membership .
Offered a discount of £100 as an incentive but no confirmation of the approval .
This is just a complete shambles and disheartening for yet again to be told no payment of membership no advance on getting approval .
Been in business for over 40 years and companies like this just make you think good and honest businesses just seem few and far between where loyal customers trust the businesses they deal with.

"Shockingly bad "

Safe Contractor are an absolute disgrace, we submitted our assessment on the 6th Jan and because we are on the standard package its not going to be looked at until the 3rd Feb, nearly a month, it costs extra £140 plus VAT to get it checked quicker. When i complained "Olly" said go somewhere else, its no skin off my nose"

"Beware of auto renewal… This company is a scam!"

Unfortunately there is no zero star rating, otherwise I would have selected it!

This company is a rip-off! Basically all they do is store information that you supply them about your company on their system (such as your Insurance details, Health and safety policy, training systems etc), and charge you an absolute fortune for the privilege!

We have only been a member as one of our customers had insisted that we subscribe rather than sending them our company information directly. We hadn’t intended on renewing this year as we no longer do work for this company, but due to a new auto renewal policy on the safe contractor system (which we had never agreed to), the company has taken over £1000 from our account and will not refund it! So please beware as they are basically scam artists!

Stay away from this company!!!!!

I have challenged our company invoice for many years and managed to get a discount as we cannot complete the sustainability part of the accreditation as we are a company of two people. We do not employ anyone, we do not manufacture anything, we carry out a service. This year the bill has increased again and they are so far refusing to discount it.

So difficult to work with unless you pay them extra money. If we weren't held to our customers on using this accreditation company we wouldn't use them, no time to submit your application and get it audited before the certificate runs out.

"A terrible company to work with"

A terrible company to work with. A complete rip off. Tedious admin, weeks for accreditation. I am forced to use them and I hate it.

"Worst Accreditation Company "

We were told by and client we needed to register with safe contractor. We paid extra for the fast track accreditation. We have previously done ISO audits that were easier than this one! They kept finding new things to ask us for (why not come back once with everything you need instead of wasting both our time?) and then when we finally passed they sent us through to someone else to do another audit. In the end their process took so long we missed out on the contract with our client through no fault of our own. The truth is no one would use them if clients were not requiring their accreditation. In the end it is not worth the time and money.

"We Are Very Glad We Used Safecontractor"

Safecontractor guided us through the process very closely and with a lot of attention to detail. They were ALWAYS available by phone or email and not once were we left waiting on any help or guidance.

We *are* a small company and the process was quite involved, but Safecontractor got us through it with a lot of care and interest in us, and were very friendly.

I'm SO glad we used Safecontractor and none of the other providers.

"Scare Tactics"

I have no words for this company. I phoned them up and signed up to the fastrack service, they took my payment straight away. I then made 4 phone calls to try to talk to someone about the forms and how to submit them. No reply. I then got a call from a company in Cardiff claiming to be Safe contractor and he wanted another £600 to fill the forms in for me and submit them.
I then heard nothing for a year (no accreditation) then I got a phone call from my account manager saying I needed to renew!! I explained that they have had my money, I have nothing in return and now he wants more? He said there was nothing he could do but he would personally look after me. I politely declined saying they need to first give me my accreditation I paid for and they just won't listen unless I give them more money. I then got 3 more calls from 'personal managers' saying I needed to renew. I declined and now (a year later) I have another email claiming for me to continue with a specific customer then I have to renew.
THIS COMPANY IS USING SCARE TACTICS TO SELL.

"For a small one man band they charge…"

For a small one man band they charge more being a limited company and not sole trader. In the 10 years ive been with them the price goes up and up and up and no reward. Customer service is a joke rude staff who talk over you and don't care or listen. When told i was going to leave they almost make threats with loosing customers etc. They try bully tactics to stay. Also have different prices website says one price on the phone its another price. Keep away save your money. Overrated over priced rude company.
Will probably have a reply saying how they are the cheapest and how they value their customers and if i could call them to discuss blah blah just to make them look bothered on here
