"Disgraceful cost to small companies "

The pricing structure of Safecontractor is absolutely disgraceful. As a one man business to charge almost £700 on renewal just to look at a couple of pieces of paper when nothing has changed from the last 2 years is scandalous. Spoke to 2 managers who were useless Catherine & Bradley neither of who can justify the lowest starting cost of Safecontractor which I asked for. I only joined this pathetic company because a client insisted (Mitie) & don't they know it !!! That's why they charge such an extortionate amount. Well I am not giving them any more of my hard earned money for next to nothing.
Zero stars

"Would give zero stars if I could"

Would give zero stars if I could.

Forced to continue safecontractor accreditation due to customer request, if we didnt have to I certainly wouldnt recommend them.

Very quick to take your money and all the usual sales talk, then the nightmare begins. Takes way too long to get through the audit process , of course unless you pay for it. 20 Working days to just get to the "Pre-Audit" Assessment - this isnt even when an auditor sees your documents.
Last year took over 6 weeks to get accredited.
So far up to 5 weeks and counting.

If you don’t need them stick with CHAS

"copy and paste platitudes"

We went through part of the 'accreditation' process with Safecontractor. It was very expensive. The amount of copy and paste platitudes that required printing, with no attention to our business particulars, was colossal. Their online platforms and communications were convoluted and excessively compartmentalised. We are a subcontractor, so we use the main contractor's RAMs. This was beyond comprehension for Safecontractor, who kept demanding RAMS. They are NOT knowledgable about the trades they take money from. We hit a brick wall at this point. So we had to abort the 'accreditation' process.

Thank you very much for the previous reviews. We are approaching the accreditation processes again, in order to switch up to main contractor status. We will certainly try to avoid dealing with Safecontractor again.

"Avoid - use another SSIP"

Would give zero stars if I could.

Forced into becoming safecontractor accreditation due to customer request, if we didnt have to I certainly wouldnt recommend them.

Very quick to take your money and all the usual sales talk, then the nightmare begins. Having to supply h&s paperwork which has no relevance to the work that we do. Takes way too long to get through the audit process , of course unless you pay for it. 30 Working days to just get to the "Pre-Audit" Assessment - this isnt even when an auditor sees your documents.

Small businesses avoid.

"The worst SSIP company to exist"

The worst SSIP company to exist, robbing small companies for fortunes to then provide the worst customer service to ever exist and ask questions completely unrelated to your business.

Do your research and check trust pilot reviews we have just started a court case against this company.

There are so many more SSIP companies around providing step by step assistance and affordable programs unlike SafeContractor TOTAL SCAM!

"Awful "

Awful experience every time I have to use them. As a consultant some of my clients have to have Safecontractor accreditation. To be honest I dread having to help them through the process. Long waiting times (unless you pay a premium), inconsistent audit standards, constantly changing rules. I now advise my clients to use any safety accreditation platform other than Safecontractor. Unfortunately, in some cases it’s a customer requirement. This organisation is a nightmare to do business with.

"Dreadful company"

Would give zero stars if I could.
Forced into using this alculmus safecontractor to work for first port.
As a small business I have to say it was an awful experience.
Very quick to take your money and all the usual sales talk, then the nightmare begins. Having to supply endless h&s paperwork which has no relevance to the work I do.
Customer service absolutely horrendous, glad I ended my membership.
Small businesses avoid.

Pretty much sums up Safecontractor, 3 months to reply!

"Worst SSIP Provider for small businesses"

As a Health and Safety Consult working with numerous clients who require an SSIP accreditation I find Safecontractor by far the worse. If I could give them zero starts I would.
Unless you pay for the fast track (which smaller businesses more often can't afford to do)I can almost definitely say that your accreditation will expire prior to them accepting your submission as it takes 20 working days from submission just for them to initially look at it. CHAS and Constructionline are generally a maximum of 10 working days.
I have found that on a number of occasions the pre assessment has passed sections that the assessor then states need further information and even when the information has been provided it can take a further 20 days for it to be reassessed.
Safecontractor are definitely not the SSIP provider to go to for small businesses.

"Overall a good company"

Overall a good company, apart from their 'business development executive' employee, who was very rude, patronising, pushy and extremely unpleasant to talk to over the phone. She kept emailing me being adamant that I won't be able to complete the process all by myself and should better pay over £1000, on top of what I've already paid, for a 'consultant' to help with my paperwork, ever after I told her numerous times that I do not need a consultant. I am now SSIP accredited without any additional help from a consultant. My advise is to just bloke that woman's email as she won't leave you alone.
