"Eqi lags behind other platforms"
Eqi lags behind other platforms which are slicker and more flexible. Its charges are average and somewhat complex to understand, although not particularly high. The list of investments held is presented in a less informative way than on other platforms such as Interactive Investor. For example, the change on the day isn't shown. The way that secure messages are presented to users is rather clunky as well, requiring more clicks than it should to navigate through the messages. When Selftrade rebranded to Eqi I expected a complete refresh with modern functionality but what we got was little more than the same old thing in green rather than orange.
In my dealings with staff, I have always found them well-informed and helpful however.
Come on Eqi, you're backed by a well-resourced organisation (Equiniti) with considerable capacity and reach in the finance industry. Show us what you can do, and you might become a serious alternative to HL, A J Bell or ii.

"Mainly very good"
I have been a customer of Selftrade and - more recently - of its successor, EQi since 2012 and am very happy with the service. In particular, I like the website and appreciate the fact that someone always gets back to me promptly and helpfully if I leave an internal message. I have held off downloading the mobile app as its review are not good (in particular the fact that it regularly loses connection with the Wifi) but understand that a new greatly improved app is in the making.
I do have two concerns, both of which relate to security:
1. On the front page of Yesterdays Business section in The Times (15 Aug 2020) it was reported that regulators at the FCA are concerned about protection for retail investors holding cash with investment platforms including the (alarming) explanation of insolvency law in which platforms which fail can confiscate customers cash deposits to pay their creditors. It would be great if Eqi could think of how to address this to re-assure customers. I am no expert but couldn't, for example, cash funds be placed in some sort of trust so that they could be ringfenced for customers?
2. These days security from scammers is more important than ever. I know that EQi advises its customers to change their password regularly but in reality, if a scammer gets into my PC and discovers my passwords, the fact that they are recently changed passwords gives me no protection at all. I really think EQi should follow many others and introduce 2-stage authentification where, typically, authenfication is provided from another device (eg the Duo Mobile system). Remember that some customers will have their life savings held on the platform.
Overall, though, I am a very happy customer.

"Eqi website move looks good"
Eqi has moved to a new website from selftrade and as an end user the service has improved slightly, with no issues of unforseen downtime or functionality issues. The user interface is clear and I am confident that security is good.
I am able to use limit and stop orders and they have worked out for me. If an order cannot be be placed then the order is routed to a broker.

"Long Term experience of EQi"
I have been with EQi and its predecessors for many years. The current website is the easiest to use and has introduced many improvements which aid my investing. I have had little need to contact EQi as I have had very few problems with the company but when I have contacted them I have received a rapid and helpful response.

"Good service"
I am very happy with the service provided by EQi. Sadly in common with most things the stock market is rather unpredictable at present which does not encourage me to make investment changes. It will in due course settle down and at that stage my account will be more active.

"Charging £18 for inactive account"
Charging £18 for inactive account. Do they expect people to day trade? Small investors make no money as all of the quarterly costs eat up any gains. Also charge £12 for a single transaction, while others are doing this for free.

"EQi - An all round good system for the active investor."
EQi offers a competitively priced trading platform with the options to have an ISA and SIPP as well. It easy to access and trade and has a pretty comprehensive set of investment options. I like the fact that I can access it on my computer or via the phone app so its great for checking values on the move.
I've been a customer for many years and wouldn't move away if they can maintain a good pricing and service offering.

EQi is quite straightforward to deal with, but in terms of service and functionality not as good Interactive Investor an example of this is entering an order outside of hours you are only offered Limit Orders, but ii offers market orders.
