During this period contacting financial service companies is time consuming, frustrating with a myriad of menus, and often a journey to nowhere. It was refreshing to find a helpful and polite agent at Quilters who was able to answer my questions, help me transition to an online Account and offer to follow up with a call to ensure everything had met my expectations and needs.

I have been with EQi and Selftrade as it was previously known for many years. Like all platforms they have their hiccups but on the whole they are good value for money, particularly if you like to "drip feed" savings.
I have tried to do a cost comparison with other platforms but this is difficult as there is no common charging structure, it all depends how you intend to use it. All I can say is that it is easily the lowest cost platform for me, hope that helps a little

"Urgent Contact Impossible"
2 hours ago I sent funds by debit card to my ISA account through 3 transactions. 2 of the transactions have not reached my account despite being confirmed as successful. I've made contact by email, but no response. Contact by phone has a complicated device sync request which I'm unable to use. No number provided! It is absolutely appalling that I cannot make contact.

"Disaster"
Disaster, I am sitting here blind as the website has gone down this morning during a falling market. It takes over 5 minutes to get through on the phone to a poor resigned trader who sounded totally fed up. I wanted to sell several shares but was blind to the prices. I will now have to transfer my ISA account to another platform as I cannot afford to lose my precious pension money. This has come after I was compensated a few weeks ago for a failing website when I was unable to trade on a Friday afternoon. I have been a customer for nearly 20 years but this is the last straw.

I chose EQI as my broker for the following reasons:- trusted brand, easy to use web-site and straight forward pricing structure. However since viewing others I feel EQI could become a little more competitive with it's charges.

"Good value for frequent stock dealing"
I opened an account as the cost looked good to make a specific stock investment if and when conditions were right. However, I could find no way of seeing live price changes on stocks and with the current volatility in the markets I felt this was needed to ensue I caught the price. I researched and found an alternative so have transferred back out and will close the account

Eqi is a good platform and easy to use to buy and sell shares. Your account gives details of percentage change / value change daily. Costs are low to buy and sell. One additional feature that I think would be helpful would be to see your gains and losses in graph format for each company you have shares in over a time period. All in all I am very impressed with Eqi.

When you are looking for a broker, do yourself one favour and exclude EQI immediately. I never loathed a company more than EQI and I'm transferring to a different broker.
The regulator should step in and force EQI to close shop permanently and protect consumers.

I recently opened my account with EQi and have been very pleased with the service. The website is easy to navigate and I find the fees very reasonable. Any emails I have sent had a prompt response, and on the one occasion when I had to phone, I encountered a friendly and helpful member of staff. A great experience all round!
