"Why is every company associated with Equiniti this bad"

So much of this website does not work, it is frightening. I gave them a year to sort it out when they bought in the new system, now it just gets worse and worse.

"Worst customer service + poor knowledge"

Cheap fees.

Low fees.... You will consistently chase them to ensure things are carried out or actioned.

Even when you complain you would be mildly lucky to speak to the complaints department. They will do everything to ensure complaints are not escalated ... But still wont listen or resolve your issue.

Staff strugle to know how to setup the accounts on offer.

Total nightmare even to organise a basic cash ISA transfer into Selftrade. There transfer team just seem unorganised even when you guide them or inform them things do not add up.

Slow in allocating dividend Payments.

There app has so many bugs. Surprising for a simple app which only has basic features.

Time is money! They don't understand this at all!

I would have thought Selftrade service would have stepped up when Equinti bought them.

"Dishonest about charges"

I knew I wouldn't be trading for a while so I asked if I should close my account to avoid low usage charges. I was told that no charges would be levied if I didn't have any open positions. One year later I went onto the site hoping to buy some shares after Brexit - 3 charges had been made with another due to be made 3 weeks later.
They refused to refund the charges I was assured would not be levied and also wouldn't cancel the charge due in 3 weeks so I closed my account.
I have never known such blatant dishonesty from a Broker.

"Do not use this company"

They are an absolute disgrace. Two Ombudsman judgements against them already and now going for the third. They do not care. Totally shoddy standards and questionable compliance.

There are a host of competitors. Use any but Selftrade.

"Words cannot describe my feelings"

I am a banker myself, so I know how careful financial intermediaries have to be these days. But I have never come across anything like this.

I had to go through the identity verification hoops a few years ago when I forgot my password.

Lo and behold, they were taken over. They sent me new terms and conditions to sign to my old address apparently.

I want to close down my account - but I have to agree to the new terms and conditions before I do that. But I cannot currently access my account. I believe I am using the correct password, but the first lady I spoke with said I couldnt access my account as I had not agreed to the terms and conditions - but I cannot do that unless I ......

So - to close down the account they want me to go through the full identity procedure with certified copies of original documents. I am not sending them original documents - that is for sure.

But I will go through the procedure to be able to walk away from them!!!

"Poor customer service (minus 10 RATING)"

I have been trying to remove my funds for a number of months, selftrade staff continue to request additional information. They requested a direct debit mandate form which was sent and received they then requested a bank statement which could only be sent by post. (they do not accept statements by email) again I had confirmation they received this. But said they couldn't update the account as they needed a direct debit mandate form. Once I informed them that I sent this prior to the bank statement they have now requested yet another bank statement in PDF format (and now they accept this by email). Why when they have this information and I have emails to back this up.

Baring in mind I have had an account for over 5 years, why don't they have this info????? They appear happy to take your cash but not happy to part with it.

In my opinion this is to prevent you from withdrawing funds which are yours (for whatever reason I don't know) Once this is sorted I am closing my account. As I don't have time to waste chasing cash which is yours I am now two months behind paying the funds held by selftrade in to my mortgage which is costing me in interest rates.

Stay clear

I have yet again been asked to post yet another direct debit mandate form, my original form matches my bank account details but selftrade seem to know otherwise. terrible way to treat your customers the worst company I have ever used. Legal advise will be the next step

"Incompetent and uncaring"

It was bad before Equiniti and now it's even worse!

Clunky website,omissions,duplications and worst of all they don't care.

The managing director "doesn't speak to customers"!

Leaving asap ( if they can manage that).

"Unusable website, poor service and worse attitude"

I used to love Selftrade as a user frendly and reliable online share trading service. Since transferring to Equiniti it seems to have fallen apart completely. Te website is clunky and often when I click to place a trade order it just hangs. I can't place limit orders for iShares any more. This week 3 limit trades failed reported as due to lack of cash when I had more than double the required amount (shown as available to trade) in my account. I have complained and asked for a fee refund to reflect the poor service and all I get is a brush off. I will be voting with my feet and transferring to an alternative service.

"Avoid"

My recent experience is that Selftrade's automated processes run smoothly particularly for shares. For funds trading it's a mixed picture. Customer service is often abysmal. Phone response times have improved in the last couple of months but otherwise it's no answers to secure emails and promises of call back that don't happen.

"Really poor service and potential breach of DP"

I have been with Selftrade for a number of years and have put their poor levels of service down to "the way the industry is" however after using other providers it really showed me how poor and expensive Selftrade actually are in my opinion.

Recently Selftrade requested my personal documents for an audit, reluctantly I sent them recorded delivery and was advised (including my driving license) would be returned within 7 days of receipt. Almost 2 months has now gone by and they still have not returned it and are not responding to my emails. As it stands, legal action is pending as I believe they have lost my personal information due to poor process resulting in negligence with customer data.

I will be withdrawing all funds and advise anybody to use a different provider!
